There was a lady at our CWP class who had one and it was nothing but trouble I tried to help her with it, but ultimately was not much help, but I handled it a good bit and decided that I wouldn't have bought it.

During the shooting portion of the class the lady was next to me, and continued to have problems, FTF, cocking problems, etc. The instructor pulled her off the line till everyone else was done and then asked for a volunteers gun so she could complete that portion, she used my 40 S&W Taurus with no problems.

After the class, BTW this was a brand new pistol, the instructor advised her to do some homework on pistols and then to return it to the shop for an exchange or refund.

Besides her problems I just think it felt cheap, it was cleaned and oiled but the slide felt bindy.

The P11, like most KelTec products, is manufactured with ultimate economy and function in mind. They have a lifetime warranty. At the gunshop where I labor fulltime, we sell as many as we can get, along with other KelTec handguns. The return rate for warranty work is less than with Colt, Springfield or other established brands. When warranty is needed KelTec takes care of their product to the satisfaction of our customers.

This is a ten shot double stack 9mm of medium small dimension. Like all automatics, there is a breakin period recommended by the manufacturer. Once a few hundred rounds have been fired, there is no significant issues with the handgun. They are regulated well for POI and don't seem overly particular regarding ammo brand or bullet weight/style.

Because of its lighter weight, FTF or FTE is usually related to the inability of the shooter to hold the handgun firmly. I've taken three customers to the range that was having such problems, but, the KelTec P11 or PF9 (single stack) worked fine when held properly.

Its a good handgun for the money and is often carried by our customers concealed. That's confidence and IMO warranted.

Handloader,

Good response, other than my involvement at the CWP class I had never handled or shot, a KelTec.

I Bow to your experience and expertise.

Thanks for the response "lesterg3". I enjoy your posts and comments on the forums. What I have found as a customer and retailer in the firearms business is that examples of one often mean little in the overall picture, however, they do raise some awareness of potential issues.

Onward . . .

I own two Kel-Tecs.
A PF9 and a P32.

Both shoot just fine.
I have friends that have the P11 and like it very much.
One thing to consider is that these friends purchased their P11s before the single stack PF9 came out, and all wish that they had the thinner PF9.

Just something for you to think about.

Eric
