I finally found out how to do it! I applied for the limited access Antelope hunt drawing.
This is the first time,I've tried it, and I probably will have as much chance as the proverbial snowball, but hope springs eternal, or somethihg to that effect. About 3 weeks, and I'll know.

Yeah, I have done that, too... just like He Who Shall Not be Named. ...and other stuff.
I went cross-country skiing one day, and according to my wife, my son came charging up from the basement, with a definitely wild look in his eyes, and said "Has Dad left?" Then she noticed he had my ski poles in his hand. I discovered I didn't have them about the time he did.
Several weeks before, he and I had gone on a scout ski-camping overnighter, and he did the most marvelous impression of a helicopter, trying to keep his balance! Me, I never did learn to turn the suckers all that well.

I put in for my first set of special hunt tags a few days ago too! I went for Elk tags in a special hunt, and then I bought a ticket for deer doe hunting too to see if I could get me on of them too.
This is my first year that I will hunt and I am all kinds of nervous! It's been a whirlwind year already for me. Up until about 6 months ago I didn't own a gun (Except my .22lr that mom gave me when dad died back in '83) and now have 8 of them.
I just hope I can take an Elk this year. I have eaten it before and it was some of the best tasting meat I have ever eaten. I am really looking forward to it.

Antelope is one of the easiest and funnest hunts you can do. Just make absolutely sure you can get the meat from a kill on ice as absolutely fast as you can! Shoot one, take pictures, cut it up on the spot and get it in coolers! Within 15 minutes if you can... and if so, you will have some mighty fine and tasty tablefare!
Antelope is one of my most favorite meats, but the trick is to get it skinned and on ice within minutes of a kill.

The hair is hollow and it will dry out your meat faster than you will believe. Antelope is notorious for tasting bad if not taken care of quickly. Just pack a few coolers, quarter it via the "gutless" guide online here and you can have it on ice very quickly after a kill.
Speedgoats are super fun to hunt. If they are wary, try to approach them from behind a hill or something to get in range. Prepare for windy conditions too... Where ever Antelope are, it will most likely be windy
There has been several years I've had 2 tags in a year, ditto for the wife. Neither of us has hunted them in 4 years now though due to Wyoming raising their non-res prices so high. I'm getting itchy to try it again though.
