I was in a gun shop yesterday and saw a U.S. Model of 1917 in original very good condition. The hang tag price was $999.00. While I was there someone bought it. I already have various 1917s so did not want the rifle. I guess I better up the value of my surplus arms. All the best...

wow, I've avoided 1917's and 1903's because I'd rather cut v type threads, I owned a 1917 about 20 years ago though I think I paid about $100 for it I didn't realize I'd be bumped to "old timer" so quickly by talking about the good old days but I'm afraid this year is going to bump a whole batch of us prematurely.
