May I make a remark here? I find it very strange that advice is given on some pet-loads for the .270 Win and, when I didn't overlook it, nobody is asking what kind of gun or barrel is used.
Well I have done several combinations with fast and slow burning powders in my Mauser K98 in .270 Win using the 130 grs SP and the 130 grs SPBT of Sierra, and they did groupe as a shotgun. Here I see almost everyone recommanding the 130 grs... I should recommand to look (or measure!) the twist of your barrel and when it's slow (1 in 10" or more), go for the 130 grs. But when it's less, go for the 150 grs jacketed bullet or a 130 grs Barnes or simular monolythic.
Think about powders with slow burning rate and don't forget that a slow powder most of the time needs a magnum primer.

Thank you for mentioning that small but very important question.... Also, guys, take a look at the left hand, upper corner of your screen, it says Reloading Data Base. Click on that and you will find 93 loads for the 270. Very Happy Very Happy
Best,
Ed

Any "Pet Loads" are specific to each gun so any advice given here is merely that, advice. I have several different calibers in different guns and non of then have the same load. Barrel length, twist and all that good stuff has bearing on the load. I do use 130gr SBT'S in my 270 with great results using IMR4831 andIMR4350.

for 130 gr work up to 60 gr of RL22 or H4831
for 150 work up to 58 gr of same. Start low work slow.
