TPWLD Has about 10 they radio collared and keep track of. There Biologist use genetic marker studies and have a sold estimate of around 5500 to 6000 in the state of Texas. As Slim knows we have report of sighting all around and even in the dallas and Fort Worth area. The sheep rancher in W and SW are the one whom the mountain really cause problem. I have seen there tracks in the mud and the size of tracks makes them scary. I measured some that were 4" wide X 6" long in a muddy dirt trail tracking a deer.

A little excitment in MO would do Bushy some good. Keep Bushy's heart ticking.

Oh great...First we have bears from the south. Then the state of Missouri desides to import Elk. Now we have big cats coming from the north...

Actually I really don't mind...Except that my horses like to bed down in the woods...Don't know if a cat would want to mess around with that big mare (Tulsa). She tends to be a bit agressive to other animals...

I figure it would have to be an awfully hungry cat to mess with a grown horse.

We have quite a few big cats in our neighborhood. Our season is currently open for them. I've only seen two. Both when out bird hunting. They are quite a site to see out in the wild. Smile

Good grief! Now someone is claiming that we have a "big cat" on the loose. This is about 25 miles from me. www.wxii12.com/news/26...etail.html

First of all, if you look at a couple of these photos you can see what appears to be the overflow pipe for the pond, and the cat isn't all that big compared to that. Secondly, although its been cold here, I doubt the ice has formed thick enough to support a very large critter.
