Took me a bit to catch on - MERRY CHRISTMAS Radar. Methinks you shouldn't stand so close to the burns when you destroy that confiscated contraband.
Tried for a Christmas buck this morning - near 0 F at first light, saw only crows - not even a red squirrel or fox was up and about. I'd absolutely love some of that searing 23 C heat about now.
EDIT - Went out again this evening. It warmed up to a balmy 18 F ( -8 C )
blackpowder season is bloody c-c-c-c-C-C-COLD !!
Not a creature was stirring - not even a mouse - - MERRY CHRISTMAS

Then you wouldn't have the snow to track your prey. Just flew in Boston. I hope the storm tomorrow doesn't dump too much snow.

I am actually pretty good at tracking without the snow. The white stuff does help me out in that it encourages other surrounding hunters to push the deer to my property. My land is not posted, but I ask hunters to check in with me before setting out. So far, no takers. There is a surrounding band of posted (no hunting) private property (two neighbors) immediately adjacent to my land. This buffer zone is about 1/2 mile deep. Beyond those areas, state parks and wildlife management areas (public hunting) go on for miles - about 5 miles to the north and west, and 20 to 30 miles to the east.
Welcome to Boston. Looks like you may be snowed in for a couple days.

Just my warped backwards sence of humour at work again.
The job starts on 5th January and I'm starting to get a bit nervous, just enjoying the time off with the family - 4 days. Looking at going for a fish early tomorrow, wind gets up by about midday so be back by then hopefully with a feed for the family.
Snow! My wife wants to experience a white christmas - its now in the 5 year plan soif anyone want to put up with a couple of mad kiwis let me know.
