I saw this video on Youtube and thought of all the Nuts with aging legs (certainly not me) that have a hard time gettin around but love to target shoot. It reminded me of when my Daddy worked for a gov. contractor and he had a buddy that was an electronic wiz. The two of them made up a target out of paper and aluminum foil sandwich. The target was wire connected to a wooden box that had a battery, a switch, and a small light bulb on it. When you hit the target the light bulb would light up. They did all sorts of other fiddling with it and I don't know what ever became of the idea, but this video got me to thinkin of my Dad's ideas and maybe it had gone digital.......nope. Makes ya think tho.

Our club uses 4 Megalinks electronic targets which are pretty neat till you get an errant shooter that knocks the sides of it with a bullet and renders it out of commission. I'm sticking with my paper targets which are way cheaper compared to spending $5000 to $15000 for these things.

Your Dad had the right idea,

I would sight the gun in with paper, then use your Dads gizmo and have some fun hitting the targets.

kind of takes the fun and relaxation of walking down to inspect your target and see how well you did. It would be a time saver though. Wonder what its max transmission range is?

SlimJ they have one that goes out to 1000yds. Well what I was thinkin was, for those of us with a good pair of legs, it would take the exercise out of the equation and we'd eventually end up too lazy to even set it up.

My little out-in-the-woods spot, where I shoot, makes me have to cross a ravine to set up the targets. Doesn't matter if you want any exercise or not, you're gonna get it, just setting up the targets. I like it that way. I'm goin out there tomorrow and taken my nephew (if he's not hung-over).

I have that in mind anyway Wiers, I'm gonna let him get rid of my 180gr 40S&W booolits. My Glock is a kicker too. He's only used to shooting a .22 so that ought to practice him some. I've only shot with him once before and I brought my 8mm Mauser for him to try out. It was funny because he'd never shot a bolt action and his movements were slow and awkward. I felt like I had to help him with the bolt!! This should be fun. (It will be, for me anyway) I'm going to give him the point down range only lecture just in case too.

He has a 12ga shotgun too, an old WesternField that my Grandpa had. So he has shot a gun with a kick before but not a handgun. He lost his job in Colorado and is looking for work here. I hope he gets something. He's the only person I know that likes guns (round here that is). He's been out of work for quite a while, has a girl in Co. and prob. wants to move her out here. Well I have other family out here that likes guns, but they don't have the time to mess with them.

suzanne, i am a big 8mm fan as well, mainly m98 large ring. do u load for ur's or shoot da factorys. i load the 125 3125 fps

Ya I load for the 8mm and I have a 24/52c Yugo, which is a large ring. I load 150, 180 and 200gr, the 150gr is probably my most accurate load. I bought the 200gr just to see what they'd be like. Kicks like a mule, but fun. I still want to make a 8mm custom rifle, I like the caliber, I think it's a bit under-rated. Someday......

Suz, when you talk about kicking, look out for a 8x68 and you'll immediatly understand the power of an 8mm. Altough they are not named "magnum", these twins (6.5x68 and 8x68) can give you enough speed and energy to send all sissies home.
