I was in a gun shop wasting time and spotted a British Enfield .303 that was in a military stock. The gun went through factory repair in 1952 and looked to be unissued. The bore is the best I have ever seen on an Enfield. The problem is that someone installed a monte carlo comb very nicely onto the military stock. The shop owner wanted to sell the rifle and I bought it cheap. My first impulse was to simply replace the butt stock. Instead I sawed off most of the grafted comb, shaped it with a rasp, sanded it and stained it to match the stock. It looks really unique and I wish I could post some pictures. Maybe my girlfriend will take a few pictures so I can show it. All the best...
