Here's a story that makes you wonder if governments have gone insane.
news.nationalpost.com/...attackers/
Now if I heard the audio correctly the punks are challenging the home owner to try to make them stop. I'd like to have some more details.

I think that in his place I would have gotten in worse trouble. I doubt that I would have had the "presence of mind" to intentionally miss.
Nope, not planning to move to Canada anytime soon. What was he supposed to do? Call the authorities and wait inside his burning home?
Now that he has been disarmed, with a fire extiguisher to defend himself, I am betting he can only expect more trouble. Outrageous.

No different to Australia guys...how dare he go armed to protect himself and his family...why that is terrible, and illegal.
Those poor guys (who are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law) he frightened the daylights out of by firing his gun illegally will need compensation for their harrowing experience...paid for by the homeowner of course. It seems the criminal has more rights that the victim in Canada...just like Australia.
What a crock of sh1t !!! One thing I've always heard Police say is, "if you need to produce and fire a gun, make sure the person you shoot at is killed...dead men don't tell lies".
Cheers, Vince

this kind of laws say a lot about the people who are producing these laws and how they got their power to do so.
Maybe we need another war? When a war starts, history teaches us that these kind of politicians are the first to run and hide...

Remember the "four boxes of Liberty": soap box, ballot box, jury box and cartridge box. The second one made some big changes here (I hope) last November.

that surely sucks...;
the same goes here in NZ WE have to have our firearms locked away in 1 place the ammo in another and the bolts a 3rd. the burgler/rapist will have long gone by the time we got it all together anyway. there have been similar cases here too. even our poor bloody police are getting beaten up and yet we still drag the chain on letting them be armed full time..

All this reminds me to an old gamekeeper who was always accompanied by a well-trained german shepherd. He once told me he always carried a broken line in one of his pockets, just for cases like this...

Thanks why Vince went on his hunting trip without his bolts!

That must be very comforting to any burglar.

Well, according to some bleeding hearts, burglar have right too you know..
Apparently they have the right to earn a living too.
Sometime ago, I heard that a clumsy burglar broken into a "messy" house, tripped and broke his foot..
He then proceed to sue the home owner for being messy and "caused" him to lose his ability to make income.
Whether true or not, this is the society that give more protection to the wrong side.
Overseas in "third world country" (or politically correct description is "developing country") you got a burglar in your house,
he is yours.. if you dont want him, give him to the mob..
Guaranteed, he would never (could) repeat the offense again.. ever..
I hope them "developing" countries never develop to what ours became.
And oh yeah..
I got a shovel..
