Hate to bug ya P'slinger but did you look at the air gun yet?

Meanwhile I went from offhand to sitting position. This little rifle is really helping me work ou the kinks in my positions and see with immediate feedback the effect of small changes in stock weld etc. The proof will be in the highpower scores this summer but I have to think it wont hurt me...

Sorry Dawgdad, I let this slip through the cracks. I'll try to get to it this weekend.

Thanks Punkin...they are also a little expensive for what I have in mind.

Might just keep my eyes open for an el cheapo that will meet my needs.

vinny- check my reviews on cheapo air guns. the raven has over 5 large tins of crossman premier hp's through it. i can drop pigeons, squirrels etc at well over 50m no sweat. if i hit a vital with a good hold it's going down. the raven is a hoot, it's tiny but its lethal. ive taken a lot of pests with it.

Looks good mate, but it all comes down to what sort of price they go for out here...if they are even available.

oy- forgot about the when-yer-down-under-the-price-might go-up thingy on some stuff. but my point was even the cheap ones are killer accurate in some cases. pyramid air, amazom, wal-mart has deals on these things and reasonable intnl. shipping if i recall. best of luck on yer search sir! im living it up w/ my 69$ raven. its usually in the truck everywhere i go with a tin or two of pellets in the glove box...also, hoppes makes brushless bore snakes for these air rifles.
i too was checking out them cmp match rifles a few weeks ago. really tempting to get a real live slice of americana. the cmp air rifle division is incredible and very deep with talent as well as a stepping stone for our future here. i remember in scouts we had a marksmanship merit program and all sorts of oppertunities for firearms and air rifle fun and competition.

I'm trying to get some photos of the parts I polished... Finally had time to take the thing apart and took some pics. Anyone see where the downloading cable went?

Here we go, sorry about the photo quality:

This first pic is of the "hammer" (I don't know what else to call it). The red arrow shows where I polished the horizontal (in this pic) surface. Since this piece can rotate in the action I'd polish it all the way around.

This second pic shows the trigger bar. The red arrow shows the surface to be polished and the green arrow shows where I CAREFULLY filed it down to reduce the creep.

This last pic shows (more or less) how the parts and surface meet in the gun.

I also deburred the stamped parts and polished any contact surfaces where I though drag might increase the trigger pull. I have no idea what the pull was before and after but it was improved and she shot better after the trigger job. Hope that helps!

Confused Confused Confused Haha Haha Haha Haha

The cost is the least of my problems Stovey...airrifles are considered firearms out here and suffer the same regulations as any other rifle.

The cheap ones shoot pretty good with a little work. My brother had a really cheap one from one of the Eastern Bloc countries some years ago. I made a couple of minor mods and got that thing shooting real well.

Cheers, Vince
