i shoot seirra 180 gr spitzers which shoot very very well and i shoot the hornady interlocs which are a lead nose and love them best for paper and deer shooting. the speers shoot ok for me but hornady and seirra shoot better. the 303 being a 2 groove barrel doesnt like boat tails at all.
seirra 180 grain in .311 run about 18 dollars a hundered while the hornady .312 interlocs run 15 dollars a hundred.
i can/have shot .75 with the interlocs from a 22 inch 2 groove barrel at 100 yards my first reloading try. neck size neck size neck size.
the seirras do not have a crimp groove and the hornady interlocs do. the crimp groove really helps setting cartride lenght.

i bought the lee annaversary reloading kit and a lee hand press. i use everything but the powder scale and the actual bench press. i find the hand press is faster and turns out a better round.
for under 300 dollars i bought my entire lee setup and enough powder and brass and primers and bullets to load 100 rounds. i neck size and am on my 20th reload on my original hundred peices of brass with about 15 going bad.
my very first 5 shells i loaded dropped my bullet spread from 3 inches at 100 yards with factory brass to .75 inches at 100 yards.
i bought a lee scoop set to measure my powder and find it the fastest most accurate way to load powder.

Oh cool Spacedone.
I've been thinking about getting a hand press as well or one of thouse classic kids Lee makes that is for loading in that little compact package since both options would let me possibly load while I'm out hunting for a weekend if the weather goes bad

Dimitri,
I have used standard CCI #200 or Winchester WLR large rifle primers for my FN49 for years and have NEVER had a slam fire. Just seat the primers slightly below flush, reload and then go to the range. All the best...

Oh cool Gil thanks!
I've heard Semi-autos shouldnt use regular ones because of slam fires and I've read that the FN suffers from this too. But I'm gonna take your word for it seeing as your the only one I know that actually owns one!
