So here is the situation (fake but wondering what to do if it did ever come up), your all lined up for a hunt, you got all your gear ready, you've payed all the fees for the hunt totaling quite abit of money and you suddenly get sick.
You got a cough, vomiting, runny nose, sort chest, headaghs and dont know what to do.
So you walk into a doctors office and he gives you some cough medicen that is really strong and supposidly makes you drozzy and tired.
What do you do now only days away from the hunt and you not feeling any better ??
Dimitri

My only trick is take a multivitamin , along with a big dose of a vitamin C and E as well .. Every day , I may get the sniffles , but I very rarely get sick ..

Yeah, but Jack...You're still just a kid...
Dimitri...A good nights sleep and lots of water is the best medicine. How to get a good nights sleep you ask?...If you can deal with Vicks Nyquil for the sleep and Dayquil doesn't make you drowsy in the day...Use it...Got to be a man to take the liquid though...

This sounds awfully like a Cough Mixture we have here in Aussie. Its called Senega. Used to be Senega and Ammonia but I think the ammonia part scared people off. Mate, you want to know about tasting like @#$%....this stuff is it, but by golly it works.
An old bushies trick (not you Bushy; the old aussies who live in the outback) :
Get a 5oz bottle of dark OP Rum and a bucket. Get into bed, drink the rum (the bucket is there if the rum "upsets" your stomach and you "eject" it). In the morning you will feel alot better, or you are hung over badly and have forgotten all about the cold. But seriously, it does make you feel better. I think it sweats the bug out of your system.
If none of that works, well I suppose you just have to sort out your priorities.....laying at home feeling sorry for yourself or getting out hunting.
Of course, given your condition, make sure that you are capable of a humane shot before taking it.
Cheers, Vince

It's happened to me. Three weeks ago tomorrow I put my back out and I still can't walk. I had to cancel fox shoots an can not get out to stalk' Bummer as I still have a few roe does to take before the end of the close season.

Buckleys is good stuff but it sure burns going down! The strongest whiskey out there dont have nothin on this stuff. Great for sore throats. By the way Dimitri where exactly are you from? I have an aunt and uncle that have a farm in Fort Erie, Ontario.

roklok,
I'm in Toronto now doing college but I wish I was up near Owen Sound to be honest. I like the nice open areas and country setting away from the city myself
And yes Buckley's is pretty bad

I agree with Bushy on this
Take dayquil and nyquil (or the equivalent) drink lots of water...GALLONS (or 3.8+ liters )!
And if ya still have trouble sleepin....an extra shot of fine rum or wiskey will put ya out a little sooner .

As long as I'm mobile, I'll hunt deathly ill.
7 years ago I drug myself out of a hospital bed with IV still in my wrist to get out for the final evening of the deer season (ours are short here... really short). I actually found and shot a buck... I was kinda out of it a bit from the meds... I remember thinking while I was dressing it out, "dont put the hand with the IV into it".
I wasnt alone thank goodness so I had some help dragging and loading it... still in retrospect it was kindof crazy to kill and dress it with an IV hanging off me

Dallan,
I like your style!
Anyways this "Robissin AC" (sp?) worked great and the "Drizziness" and "Drowzyness" doesnt effect me so I know what to ask for next time if its really hunting season
