almost forgot how good they look.. Sad

I think they are just teasing us poor, over regulated, hard done by Aussies Gelan. Its terrible mate.

By the way Joe...a damn fine looking pump gun mate. From memory the Mossberg Pump Gun has a pretty good reputation so I don't think you will be disappointed mate.

That looks sweet just the way it is.

I gotta agree with CB mate...it looks sweet now.

I suppose you have to ask yourself what you like about the Knox Stock that the factory stock doesn't provide. If it's simple aesthetics then it really only comes down to the money, but if the Knox Stock is more comfortable, is easier to carry (lighter) and allows you to shoot better, then I reckon it is a goer mate.

Here's a link for the stock Im considering

www.blackhawk.com/prod...58,165.htm

The recoil reduction and adjustability in length are some real plus's. The only thing I don't like is the Mossy 500 has a thumb saftey and with this style stock it will not be very smooth working the saftey

That's a good looking stock (from the practical point of view). Keep us posted, I might have to update my old 500.

Joe, your thing is almost the same as my Maverick and I wouldn't think about changing the stock. Even with its cylinder choke, I took it out for dove-hunting and it surprised me how far one could get a dove (even using steel shot!) with that short barrel.
Only: I'm living in a part of the world that's not being raised with lever actions and pumps, so I more prefer a double barrel or a semi-auto for hunting because I always forget to pull the pump Smile
And just for fun I even have it pimped a little and I have had a chinese see-trough tripple mount fixed on it. So now if they change the law a little, maybe I'm allowed to put a laser on it (and a lamp and a red dot and ...)
Don't know about you, I like a pistol grip on a rifle, but not on a shotgun. A shotgun needs a thin, elegant grip that gives sweet pointing.

Joe my advice is use what fits best and to hell with what it looks like. a shotty is pointed not aimed when you shoot in a hurry so a great looking stock with all the bells and whistles that patterns 2 feet high is bugger all use to me. If it aint broke dont try to fix it. keep us posted.
