Thanks for posting, Suz. The entire border situation is a mess and "Fast and Furious" only escalated the chance of it being a more dangerous situation. I think the next President should make securing our borders a number on priority.

wtf Last month they escorted a 74 year old grandmother out of resricted airspace with 2 F15's but yet they allow Mexican navy (cartels) to fly unhindered in US airspace. Mad

Some good ol' boys down there will light up one of those Mexican helicopters some day and then there'll be one hell of a mess.

Ya'll know my position on a lot of the Mexican issues and I've got some great intel from inside sources you'll never see on the news.

That said, I really do give a tip of the hat to them Mexican SF's. As of late with our aid and trainging these team's of strikers have been engaging some incredibly hostile and dangerous groups and have been victorious in a number of hellacios fire-fights. The are super-sharp, well equipped and highly motivated and w/o them that place would be utter insanity. It give me hope for the innocent souls being trampled by the cartels and gangs down there. They realyl do care, kick butt and make a huge difference.

The Mexican Navy is the only government department in Mexico that has managed to keep itself clean from the cartels. Which is why, it is the only one used for major drug and gang busts in Mexico, as they can be trusted unlike the Army and Police forces. So I wouldn't doubt they have gotten actual permission to use US Airspace for operations as the article suggests.

They have been doing very good work, including as recently as a couple days ago:

I once ignorantly thought the Mexican Navy was kind of a misnomer. Boy was I wrong, it's full on ready to rock with some SERIOUS tonnage.

I'm a news hound, not sure about Internet Explorer, but with Firefox you can subscribe to live RSS feeds:

Such as:

BBC:
feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/rss.xml

Fox News:
www.foxnews.com/about/rss

CNN:
www.cnn.com/services/rss/

CBC:
www.cbc.ca/rss/

National Post:
www.nationalpost.com/rss/index.html

NY Times:
www.nytimes.com/servic...index.html

Al Jazeera
english.aljazeera.net/...5943979989

Chinese:
www.xinhuanet.com/engl.../index.htm

Ynet News (Israelis largest and oldest paper):
www.ynetnews.com/artic...81,00.html

And then you have everything nicely located on your Bookmark toolbar and they auto update so you can always read the news quick.

You should never trust just one news source, and your should be careful of similar stories, check who actually wrote the article, sometimes its one article, cut down or expanded for different papers, all from the same wire service with the same view on the subject.

Take this story, you have to go to Fox's Latino section to read it:

latino.foxnews.com/lat...l-members/

Hence why sometimes, more sources the better.

www.cnn.com/2012/10/09...index.html

Quote::
(CNN) -- The head of Mexico's largest drug cartel, Los Zetas, is believed to have been killed in a gun battle with the Mexican Navy, authorities said Monday.

Strong evidence points to Heriberto Lazcano Lazcano as one of two men killed in a shootout Sunday in the northern state of Coahuila, according to a Navy news release.

But, the navy added, it will need to carry out more forensic tests to make a final determination.

The Los Zetas cartel -- headquartered in Nuevo Laredo, directly across the border from Laredo, Texas -- is Mexico's largest drug cartel in terms of territory and has operations in 11 Mexican states.

But here's how WE do it just ship the offender to some other miserable country so he can't be messed with.

On a lighter note at least we found some more of the guns.
