Have to raise cash to avoid tax foreclosure on my home. If I didn't need the money that desperately, I wouldn't dream of selling it. Back in the '70s I owned a .222 Rem that was half as accurate as this Ruger and I still regret having sold that one.
I do have a very slightly used outboard motor and a few other things for sale. If I sell that motor, I get to keep the Ruger. I'm surprised that I have had no bids yet on the rifle / ammo package. Everyone's buying personal defense guns. Hunting, varmint and target rifles are moving very slowly.

Well Marty that's what my gun seller said to me today too. I asked how the sale went and he said most everybody buying guns, wanted conceal carry guns. Most everybody buyin long-guns were after the least expensive AR's and they wanted cheap 22s. My SKS got handled quite a bit, but the Hakim is too long and heavy, nobody even looked at it. That is a major collector's show too. In a couple weeks he's going to one in Portland. Afraid it's a sign of the times, but also deer season opens next weekend and this was the last weekend for sighting in and scouting and such so the turn-out might have been better at a different time.
You've done pretty good tho. What amount of time has it taken so far with selling?
Sorry to hear about the foreclosure, that'll put some gray hairs on the paddock.

PS- Suz, don't feel bad that I sold 11 firearms and you still haven't sold your 2. the reason mine sold so fast is that I took a small loss on almost all of them in order to raise quick money:
Marlin M60 glenfield w/ wideview variable scope - $80
another glenfield - $70
Engraved Hopkins & Allen Bluejacket spur-hammer revolver (the worst beating, paid $320) - $165
Shmidt-Rubin K-31 w/sling - $190
Weatherby Vangaurd 300 WBY w/4X-12X scope - $350 (still no payment)
Steyr M95 carbine 8X56R w/bayonet & sling - $210
Winchester 1400 12 GA - $220
S&W safety hammerless 5th model (mint) - $255
H&R 38SW Top Break - $82
Empire State 32SW Top break - $56
S&W Model 1 1/2, 2nd issue Tip Up (gray gun) - $131
Actually, now that I look at the list, and not figuring in the Bluejacket, I have only $190 more into the list than the total sales amount. Didn't do badly at all, given that I had only 3 weeks to raise the money.

Doin' the same thing here Suz. Dust collectors w/ no real collector value- gone for funds for a new shooter that'll get shot. Sold a 20 pump, 22lr and an air rifle past few days. Picking up a new 308 sniper in 80 hours, 12 mins and 17 secs.
Used to think ya cant have too many guns but I got tired of serviceing them every few months when all they did was sit. Better to have them going to a good home where they'll get used and loved and not just going to rust.

Good point! That 26" Pardner Pump was an incredible buy at 200$! They made a million of them so...easy to reaplace. What and excellent pump.
Still got the Winchester 12g, my S&W M&P 15-22LR, and.....the Benelli Ultralight!

Ya got me to thinkin too.. LOL.. My wife and daughter won't let me sell any
of my rifles.. we only have 6 factory rifles..the rest are custom rebuilt by me...I had a buyer for the 8mm-300 win mag switch rifle...till he shot it.. He didn't like the rcoil from a 200 gr 8mm fmj/ap leaving the rifle at 3100fps..so he backed out.. guess I'll keep that one for when we go elk hunting.only hadgun we got is a daisy model 1911 style in .177..ha ha ha
In the dark ya can't really tell if it's a real .45 1911. or not...take care ..fb3

Well, it's almost officially gone - Got a bid on my Ruger M77 MK II 204. Auction closes late tomorrow.
I'm going to really, really miss this rifle (but to keep her I'd have ended up living out of my car). I'm going to have to give her a going away party.
Sept 30 at 7:24 Eastern she'll be dancing with someone else.

Suzie dear,
Make gun cabinets and sell them. I have seen gun boxes go for $1500 and they only held four guns. With your skills you could make a killing on them.
There is your fertilizer for the old money tree. Custom cases go for a lot more..........
Love ya!

Thanks Paulie you're kind. That's probably a good idea right now when everybody's buying guns. Maybe one especially for AR's too. Don't think this area has any money tho. I tried years ago to sell period furniture that I made out of pine. Really nice (but pine) with all the nice features like dovetails and wooden pinned no screws doors and drawers but I ended up offering them to flower shops for display and practically had to give them away. People want cheap around here. It kinda took the wind outa my sails for furniture making.
Ya know it's a good idea tho, I'll give it some thought. Wood isn't very cheap right now but I've learned a few things with using plywood. My Daddy bought me a nice huge lathe that I've barely used....maybe I could incorporate some sort of turned aspect to them and make a unique look......hhhhhmmmmmm most cabinets look like garage sale items. My niece went to a yard sale and bought one to make a bathroom cabinet out of it. Piece of crap for a gun cabinet but painted white, it's a great cabinet for towels and soaps.
How many do you want?
Suz

one type of furniture that sells well over here is garden benches made out of a slab of wood with twisty limbs used for the arms and legs. the slabs are chainsaw cut about 2" thick with the bark still on the edges.

Suzanne,
Once I get moved I may have to buy a custom gun case for the new house. I can give you the number and type of guns and you can make the cabinet to fit. You tell me how much you need and I will send a check or money order.
