Well, it looks like springtime has come to South Texas. The trees are starting to bud out and some fruit trees are blooming. We're two weeks from planting our summer gardens, although some people were still picking tomatoes from their last years gardens 3 weeks ago.

People are starting to talk about spring turkey season

Cary

Nothing personal Cary, but I will take my three months of Minnesota summer, and hit the cold stuff again.
Heat
Humidity
Snakes
Spiders

No thanks partner.
I'll plant my tomatoes on June 1st to avoid freezes, and pick them in Aug. and Sept. just before fall frost hits.
My body functions just great in cold, snakeless, Minnesota.

We're down to three seasons 'round here...

We typically go from Frozen to Mud, move right into Humid, then right back into Frozen......

Eric,

Yep, we got all those things (Heat, Humidity, Snakes, Spiders, etc.), and more. To live down here, you just got to be meaner than all of that. Very Happy I'll take the heat anyday.

The wide varity of personal choices keeps us from bunching up in one area.

Cary

Our Parish Youth Minister asked me to go in July to Galveston with a bunch of kids for relief work.

It is the first time that I turned him down.
I think that I said that I would be happy to be in the Bering Sea on a Crab Boat in January catching Snow Crabs for the Parish, but no way in Hell will I go to Galveston in July.

He didn't ask again. Very Happy

Eric

Then again...when you visit South East Asia you should be prepared for pretty much anything.

Oh yeah and it always pays to checked the crapatorium before sitting down.

The solution:

Cobras are sneaky buggers and can appear from anywhere over there.

Hey Cary,

I run a Boys Youth Group at our Parish.

Just think Shocked Saturday, their Pops and I will drive out on good old frozen Forest Lake, catch crappie, cook hot dogs, keep cool and NOT: Slap bugs--run from snakes--sweat--or talk about planting our gardens next week.
We will talk about the great ice fishing to be had in March, and hopefully, in April, and then move on the talking about hunting in the fall.

Man Cary, you just don't know what you are missing, living in South Texas. Very Happy Very Happy
