Well, if that's the best you can do... Wink

Wow! Looks like your load development for that gun is over! Also looks like I need to try Varget in my .260!

Will that load do the same thing in a couple of weeks?
I have had groups that were real good - once - and then could not repeat the group with the load again.
Thats when I started using 5 and 10 shot groups and trying them over a few outings to make sure the load what it advertised.

It is some mighty fine shooting!

Suz, To my knowledge nothing.........who knows what Remington did after a serious a$$ chewing from me !!! More on that story later.

Paul, This rifle has been one of the most consistent I've ever owned !!!
I've shot a number of good groups with it over the years I've owned it. I will admit though it can be tough to consistently shoot that good (me...not the gun) with such a light weight.

Nice looking rifle and tc will approve of how you set the picture up.

Leupold scope are good but I have not much good to say about their top mount. Trying to set the windage screws to get the rear scope ring on center line is not exacting. Not sure there is any need for windage adjustment external to the scope these days. You can't take the scope off and remount it and return to zero for windage. Well maybe there is if you red loctite one of the screws after you get it set and then only use the other for mounting/dismounting. Its also common for the screw heads to fail and torque off. Happen to me - I use a torque wrench - and gunsmith says its a frequent occurance.

Did I say what a great looking gun!!! I wish my custom Rem 700 shot half that good.

Thanks to all for the generous compliments !!!

I agree on the windage thing. But it isn't as hard as you think.
First center the crosshairs in the scope, place scope in rings and snug things to keep from moving. (I usually use an old scope to get things initially lined up) Using a bore sighter center the crosshair and tighten those big windage screws. I also use the aid of a pair of levels to square the scope.

You would be surprised how close to zero (only taking the top halves off) you can get by taking some measurements (reference points using a dial micrometer) before taking the scope off. Last time I did it I only had to make a 1/4" adjustment. I also keep a record from the bore sighter reading just in case.

Let's see.

Steps for Leupold scope base.
1. First, center the crosshairs in the scope
2. place scope in rings and snug things to keep from moving
3. use an old scope to get things initially lined up
4. Using a bore sighter center the crosshair
5. tighten those big windage screws.

Tools required - flat-bladed screw drive (outdated), bore sighter, used scope

Steps for Picatinny / Weaver Scope base.
1. mount and tighten with allen wrench
2. Not be surprised how close to zero windage you are Surprised

Tools required - allen wrench (modern)

Did I say what a great looking, great shooting gun you have!!!

stovey, where are you? stovey?
