So the daughters has been bugging me to get one of these for YEARS!!
I have been refusing because I KNEW it! once the novelty wears off,
DAD (me) is going to be the ONE who take care of it.
Okay, today on a once in a few years occasion, we visited a flea market..
and came home with fleas.. literally
Boy, them med'cines are sure costly!!
Forked out $$$ for flea sprays and worming tablets..
Not yet even get to the vaccinations and microchip etc..
Grrr... hopefully she is good for hunting partner..

But she's gorgeous.
My dogs behave better then my kids, and help out around the house just as much.

Hi Vince,
I would not have a clue.. some type of mongrel?
She does look like Aussie terrier.. but different.. shorter hairs
Foxy got straight up ears, this one got floppy ones.
Yah she's cute, but the dent she made on my wallet is definitely not ..
When I was a boy, having a dog means feeding it and keep it busy..
It seems that things have change..
You got to pamper them and treat them right or else woe would happen.
Do you know that a can of dog food is more costly than a can of human food?
Is this just marketing hype or, them dogs breeds weaker?

Cute little critter! There is a book out there called "No Bad Dogs" that I liked. Excellent info on raising a dog to behave, not to mention it would work for kids too!

You may have saved the day Pumpkin....I think he's in trouble already.
I had the same feelings one time I brought home 2 cute kittens and took them to the vet. ya, empty the wallet time, and that was the first of many visits.

I told my daughter years ago that I raised her and her brothers like I train a dog. Screw up and a slap to the backside. Do good and pat on the back. Didn't make her too happy with me and my analogy. Now she thinks differently as she raises her own.
Cute dog Gelandangan...Her ears may straighten up as she gets older.

Awww, she's a cutie and something tells me she just may be your best hunting partner. I had a black lab named Lady, and we got her as a pup and she accompanied me to the fields for 14 years. Best hunting buddy I ever had.

You mean you just brought her home and the kids already abandoned it?
When I do eventually get a dog, it will eat what everyone else is eating. I refuse to buy dog food, after seeing the state the parts in the machine come out as.
Believe it or not, those parts look like someone took a mild steel part threw it on the beach so the salt water gets to it, and left to rot for a couple years. Except these parts were off the machine after 6 months of use, and made of very expensive stainless.
There is a reason why pet foods say "Not for Human Consumption", cause it ain't food fit to be eaten.

I'm not so sure about that, Dimitri. True story: There was a company that made fish sticks and fish cakes (for human consumption) in Maine. They were bought out years ago by a company that made cat food. They couldn't pass the health inspection to be cleared to sell cat food. The company had to go back to making fish sticks.
My Dad had a credible explanation for this. He said that dogs and cats eat the same food every day. If they get sick from it, it is easy to prove where the contaminated food came from.
People eat many things from several places each day. It is much harder to prove just who poisoned them.
PS- Nice lookin' pup Gelan. I hope you can train the kids to take care of her.

I've seen the augers and the like from dog/cat food plants, its pretty disgusting the state they are in after they are run at least in my opinion.
Bushy,
I feed my mothers dogs when I am around a diet of meat, peanut butter and the like, they never puked.

I don't know, but if I never have to see one of those augers or smell one for that matter in my life, I'll die a happy man.
Still when the heck did your daughters get that old? Last I checked they were like 10 years old.
I guess time flys.
