Instead of Vince's suggestion about the gas stove: some put their german Teckle on their feeth in the sleeping bag to keep them warm... warm feeth means warm knees and as long as knees are warm, one could easely stand the cold.

Come to think of it I've slept pretty well in a two-man ladder stand before (by myself). A place like that would be like staying in the Hilton!

The stove isn't for warmth mate, it's for warming up the soup or making a cup of tea or coffee...no alcohol when shooting of course.

I've just had a look at some two man stands Punkin...how in blue blazes did you manage to sleep in one of them mate? Room is certainly at a premium, and it doesn't look exactly comfy.

After a tour in the Navy, Marine Corp, or Army, you can learn to fall asleep anywhere!

Vince, the floor of that stand is 35" front to back and 45" side to side. I'm 5'8". Curl up on a cold day, with the sun shining on you ...

Well it was a rough season for us. All I can say is at least I was comfy while I was sitting there waiting for nothing. After spending time in the stand I already have some remodeling to do according to swmbo ed. I need to make the door taller and get rid of the threshold. I asked her if she wanted me to add on a wrap around deck and an entryway.
The rut had not started really to as of last weekend. I pulled out the old Hawkin and got it cleaned up and ready to hunt. Now the first storm of the season is upon us tonight. It has been raining for a couple hours and is supposed to turn to snow soon at one point they forecast anywhere from 6 to 15 inches for us. at least we are only looking at 12 now.
The other guys I hunt with want penthouses for next years so I told them to keep there warm close close by and we will start cutting logs and milling lumber as soon as the muzzle loader season is over.

Hope your luck with the smoke pole is better. I would say stay warm but you have that townhouse.
