The world is going down... Look at the signs!
I've always learned that heat is going up to higher places, not down. Maybe the world has turned and Aussies are standing straight up and we are hanging now?

It was -31F in Oklahoma this morning!! Beat all records for the coldest temp in the state. They are forcasting it to be 100 degrees warmer for their high next week. Should help remove the 2 feet of snow they have.

When I first moved to Vermont there was a temperature change of 86* F in 5 hours - I had never seen anything like it. At 1:00 PM the temp was 64*. A squall blew through and at 6:00 PM it had reached -22* F. The following night, the temp bottomed out at -49* F, and for a week the HIGH temp for the week reached -21* F

I miss Vermont, but not that weather.

This weather reminds of finding that break in the clouds a pilot can penetrate through to come back to land - a sucker hole! I think Old Man Winter isn't done with us yet?

We got a little over 2 inches of rain (yesterday and today) in Oregon and it's heading east. Supposed to get into some snow above 1000 foot level the next three days. I've got my water wings out at the ready, but if this goes east, you guys might be in for some nasty stuff again. The coast had 80 mph winds associated with the low front, it was more like 20mph here. All that rain and winds makes for some scary tree watching, I have some redwoods and fir trees that could easily crush the house but thankfully the winds didn't bother here at all just a few small limbs flying around.....just sayin you should watch the west coast and see what comes your way. Sometimes it goes up into Canada then swoops down around the Great Lakes, sometimes it goes directly east from here. Enjoy the break while you got it!

Be safe guys...watch those low fronts...they can turn nasty at the drop of a hat.

Its not unusal to have wild swings in temperature in western northern plains of N America. Chinooks which bring in very warm temperatures are very common in Calgary Albert and southern Saskatchewan and down in Montana they have the greatest recorded change in temperature of 105F. But temp changes of 30C are very common in western Canada and NW USA: N Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington.
