Crazy! 10 shots at 1000 yards, 2.6872″ grouping. If accepted it will be the new worlds record.

That is awesome shooting. I would be happy with a group like that at 200 yds. Apparently the 6mm Dasher is a great cartridge.

Well, it had to happen sooner or later.

So, you take a 6mm BR, blow the shoulder forward far enough that you can fit 33 grains of powder under a 105 grain bullet and burn barrels out in 1200 rounds with a freebore that is as long as the bullet. Take a
"blue-printed" Remington action, a custom barrel with a tight chamber and a long free-bore and add a good shooter, a good day, and a good competition and it had to end with a record.

Quite a feat!
I think I would be thrilled a 1000 yard group two to three times that size.

I doubt I can see the target at 1000 yards let alone hit it with any projectile..

The key to shooting longer distances is overcoming the "Pucker Factor" that comes with your first shot. If you have good dope and apply the correct sight settings it is really quite fun to routinely hit the center of the target from 500 to 1000 yards away.

It can be enormously frustrating if you do not know your load well enough to apply that dope and are shooting blind. I had a newbie shooting 600 with his AR for the first time and he was a nervous wreck. He was so afraid he would miss the entire 3 foot wide black aiming area. I looked over his load and checked his sight settings for 200 and 300 yards and told him - Give me 43 clicks up and 10 left for the wind... He settles into the rifle and his first shot ever over 300 yards... X! He was a very grateful and happy camper.

I just pulled out the last group I fired at 1,000 yds. last year and my best one was 2 9/16" BUT, that was a 3 shot group...

My 1,200 yd. group was 5 5/8"also a 3 shot group...

I can't even imaging being able to 10 shots well inside of 3" at 1,000 yds.. That is some excellent shooting....

I have a good imagination - but it has no relevance in this reality.

I often visualize hitting all 40 targets in my silhouette shoot but so far the best I get in reality is 26 out of 40.

I checked on a Long range forum and several of the guys there are getting closer to 2500-3000 and I even got this note:

A HM in my area has a Dasher in a Eleseo Tube stock and his Krieger had over 4500 rounds through it when he took it off before going to Perry. Shot a 200 with double digit X's at 600 the last string. It's a phenomenal cartridge. I pulled the first 600 yard target he did while fireforming brass, 200-13.
