Anyone use/recommend a padded vest/jacket for shooting rifles?

Looking for a padded shoulder (right) that will bring out the stock anchor point in good weather as well as provide a little more cushion for a long day at the range.
Thanks

Hunter, heavier vests tend to settle down sight wobble when shooting offhand.

I don't own a vest, but have shot with one borrowed from a metallic silhouette competitor. It was a custom-job made in leather by his wife, nice shoulder area padding, big pockets low down on each side that if loaded up with ammo, will settle you down even more.

How about a dual use vest for hunting (Eagle Made in the USA with a real lifetime warranty)

www.eagleindustries.co...=59&page=1

Personally I'd go with a MOLLE vest and attach what you want on it for the range, hunting etc. Which is what I did, one vest many uses, just be warned it can get expensive when you factor in the cost of pouches and the vest.

Which reminds me I still need to sew in that recoil pad to my vest. Shocked

By the way Cheaper then Dirt seems to need the http part (atleast on my computer) so here is the link TRBLSHTR posted ->

Thanks for the sites, guys.

I did buy a "entry vest fro CTD last year, but I wasn't impressed by the "shooting pad", just a piece of vinyl with a little bit of padding.
More for looks than function.

I also keep it supplied with assets, so to unload everything just for a day at the range is sort of a PITA.

Any way, as I was looking thru my "stuff", loading gear for the sat opener of Fall Turkey, I came across my orange "upland vest".
Bought it for a trip to a hunting club with a friend, and you had to have one of these.

So as I wasn't using it much, I started to looking in "my stuff" for something to pad the shoulder with, and a piece of buckskin to sew over it.

What I came up with was a piece of tanned buckskin w/the hair on, left over from a pair of high top moc's I made several years ago.

By cutting out a cardboard pattern, then transferring it to the back side of the buckskin, I cut out the patch and sewed it on the shoulder, w/the hair in.
Worked out very well, until I tried it on and realized I had sewn it to the left shoulder. Hate it when that happens, oh well, never said I was any good at this.

So the only thing to do was to cutout another one, by flipping the pattern over, (yeah, I did cut the pattern for the left shouder).

Sewed this on and now both sides match!
Feels like a good amount of padding and it looks pretty good.

And, I can still use it if I get invited to "The Club" again.
Thanks again for the sites guys.
