I can download the installation program, but when I double click on the installer, I get an error message telling me that PointBlank is already running.

I've logged off, re-started, and gotten the same message again.

Any ideas?

Is the PointBlank.exe program running? The patcher does a quick check to see if it can open that file and if not (due to it running) it throws the error.

Bring up your task manager and see if there is a copy runnning somehow. I've tested the patcher quite a bit and its always been fairly reliable.

Thanks for asking the obvious question, but yes, I had checked task manager. Trying things a bit differently, I found that the patcher needs to be run from the folder in which all of the files will be created. I had been trying to run it from the Download folder. Got it all now.

Previous to the current patcher released only a few days ago, it would blindly copy down all of the needed pointblank files into whatever folder the patcher was run out of. I had an irate user really mad when he ran it from his desktop and it put a ton of files on the desktop right along with it.

I added to the current version a check to see if its run from the desktop and dis-allow it. I really need to run a check to see if the patcher is run for the first time and prompt the user for an installation path. I would have done it for the current version but it requires a bit of a change in how the internal logic works.

Anywho, glad you got it working. I appreciate the bug reports, it only helps make the software better.
