Yup...he certainly has Pete.
DS...that is pure unadulterated GUN PORN mate. Once again, you have outdone yourself, producing a firearm that is way beyond aesthetically pleasing...it is absolutely gorgeous. I am not generally a lover of laminated stocks, but that stock is beautiful...in fact the first thought that came to mind when I saw it was WOLF...don't know why, but that is what it reminds me of mate.
I am going to assume that it shoots every bit as good as it looks, and then some.
Thanks for the pics mate...I look forward to each and every post of your hard work.

That case is approx. 2.93 inches.....I dunno what to say.....takin out tree stumps with it? How do you figure out the loading, that's something I've had to do with an obsolete caliber, but how do you do it?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the compliments, Thank You!
Vince - when I die, I want you to come and speak at my eulogy. I'll even tell my wife to let you pick out one of my rifles to take back with you...
Suz - March 18 of this year, marks my 31st. year of building rifles and designing and developing cartridges. Picking a load for any certain wildcat cartridge just becomes second nature. With this 338 WHITE EXPRESS cartridge, a fire-form load and starting loads for load development is - book listed maximum loads for the 338-06. I loaded 10 cartridges with 10 different powders, all maximum loads, and after fire-forming each round, when the action was opened, a fully formed case fell out into my hands. I did not have to pluck a single one from the chamber. Formed cases with a bullet seated .003 into the lands has an overall loaded length of over 3 3/4"...
I have a complete series of WHITE EXPRESS cartridges that are based on the full length 9.3X74R cartridge and they all use maximum listed loads for the '06 based cartridges, regardless of caliber. The 6mm W-E uses 6mm-06 or 6mm-284 data, the 7mm W-E uses 280 data, the 257 W-E uses 25-06 data, etc...
I originally designed these cartridges for the Ruger #1 and my double rifles but, the T/C Encore does very well with them too...
Tree stumps? No, the guy I built this rifle for is going to use it on elk....
David

DS, can I ask 2 questions?
- What kind of work did you do on the trigger of such an Encore?
- Is there any difference between Encore-actions? Or could I put such a barrel in 338 WE (if it should be allowed in Belgium) on my Encore in .22 Hornet?

There is no difference between any of the T/C Encore actions...
I adjust Encore triggers down to 3 lbs. for hunting, 2 lbs. for a varmint trigger and 1 lb. for a target trigger....

Thanks. I'm going to have a look at that trigger.
And just to illustrate what we are talking about, it could help to put a .22 Hornet round in the picture next to your .338 WE rounds... talking about versatility...
and when you think you have enough shooting gear there's always someone showing other stuff to like and to love... and the more you get, the greater the desire becomes... very strange feelings that are hard to compensate...
