hasn't it? Years ago at 12 years old I could walk with a friend down the street of the small town near the farm where I grew up carrying my .22 to go shoot gophers and nobody thought anything of it. Twenty years ago or so we had a gun store in one of our malls and guys, including myself, would go in and out carrying guns back and forth without them being encased and nobody thought anything of it. Can you imagine what would happen if you walked into a Mall heading for a gun shop today,
with a gun, of any configuration, that wasn't encased or even if it was encased! There would be law enforcement officers every where with weapons drawn, and you'd be lucky to stay alive.
The worst part of it is, we as gun owners have let it happen by not educating the public and by letting the wrong politicians get elected and by not separating ourselves from these nut jobs. We've let anti gun groups, with the help of a few nut jobs, put the fear of guns into the publics mind. Our biggest challenge is to change the publics perception, and how do we do that? If we don't I'm afraid we will lose the battle, if we haven't already. Just my .02
