The September issue of Guns Magazine has two fine articles on surplus arms. They are, "Surplus Arms Shootout" and "WWII Bolt Actions". Check them out. All the best...

I just found an article in the August issue of Field & Stream by David Petzal that compares and contrasts current hunting ammunition. It's quite informative and cites the strengths and weakneses of current bullet types. We can always use more information on this subject. It's especially nice when an article appears that's actually informative and relevant. There's just not enough of them. Best wishes.

I have a 1942 6.5 x 55 Swede built by Husqvarna. I don't know if it ever saw action in WW2, but I can see why the Swedes love em. Mine is restocked and has a modern scopeon it (I still have the original military stock, too). I like to use it on javelina nd coyotes. I have not tried it on deer, yet, but I know it is a perfect deer caliber.
