Anyone ever add this to your lead for casting bullets? I just got an 5lb ingot of this stuff for 4$ I can't pass up bargains like this. It is adamant alloy or what they call grade#2 about 90% tin with some other metals very similiar to pewter. I am considering it for my .405

90% tin!!! 80 those must have been copper - tin type for high temperature bearings.
Them are good stuff!!
You can mix it with 95lb lead for a similar to 1:20 mixture and still get good fill out on the mold!!

It is very difficult to get babbitts here in Oz..
Been hunting for them for a while.. not much luck yet.

You got one heck of a deal I just bought 5lbs from Pewter Company last year when the market was high and paid almost $16 a pound.

Can't go wrong, buy all you can as I can't find any around here at sales or auctions.

Very Happy I posted once in CastBoolits, a good and cheap source of pewter is old public graveyards.
Some public graveyards are leased for 100 years, after which, the bones are dug out and burn to ash.
The headstone plaques and other ornaments are often made of pewter..
These are usually recycled to nearby metal merchants.
If you are not icky about where you got your pewter, you can usually intercept them right at the graveyards so to speak ...
Its not likely that the original owner would ask for it back..

Boo!
