My first week.

Hi all.
Did my first week in the big chair in Hamilton NZ.
The job is a lot diff from what I was expecting, I'm being told not to do anything, just observe and recommend solutions. Be available for major incidents etc.

Its not quite my style - I like being first through the door kickin arse and crackin skulls as the old saying goes.

I'm sure it will be good but I am way short of a major adrenalin rush! Need a fix.......

Well, I'm sure that your wife is a lot happier with this new situation (they do worry). Maybe you could try hunting wild boar with a slingshot and club?

Wiersey, some of us have jobs like you that I'd seriously consider cutting a nut off for.

Slim, Nah I'm a commuting flatmate for the time being. Do the big shift once the youngest has gone to Uni in Wellington. Bout mid February. Roster is 6 on and 4 days off so not too bad.

Marty: Slingshot and wild boar ? mmmmm as long as there was a decent tree to climb it'd be worth a crack ...even if it was only for a laugh! Make an aqwesome U-Tube clip though wouldn't it.

Nah really its the first week and I'm sure things will happen that will get the adrenal glands pumping.

Sounds like a bit of KBW there Radar. Ya need an adrenalin fix mate...have a go at doin' this on the weekend...

My first lesson in being a supervisor was when my Lt. pulled me aside and asked me what I was doing. I told him that I was completing some paperwork. He told me "It's not your job to do it, it's your job to make sure it gets done!"
