More like the trip to hell.
What a disaster......
Weather was misty to fine rain
The walk across farmland and into the bush up to the top of the plateau used to take me about an hour, it took 2 hours, I was carrying about 25kg of gear.
I arrived at the hut after 4 hours and was met by the resident rat....I HATE RATS - I'd rather deal with a fried biker. The cheeky sod sat there until I stamped my foot then he AMBLED off. He'd made a bit of a mess so I tidied that up, laid some poison I found, made a terse entry in the hut book, made a feed and decieded that i wasn't sharing my food with errant critters so gapped it back home....another 4 hours walking. Also forgot my water purification tabs and my hammock which doesn't help. Did see some old sign but didn't really get much of a looksee around.

Got home absolutely shagged, the missus laughed at me cause of what I was wearing.
What did I learn?

I'm not as young or as fit as i used to be, it used to take me about an hour from the truck to the top! Took me damn near 2 hours!
I carry too much crap for a day trip, probably too much for an overnighter.
I'm as sore as hell 24 hours later
I'm going back to hunt the front areas at the top of the plateau - don't have to walk all the way to the hut and I have shot deer there before.
Found out from a mate he's got access through a farm that only takes 20 minutes to get to the hut!!!!!! Wish he'd told me earlier as there is some good hunting not far from the hut.

Thats about it in a nutshell.

I tried to put something on the Nut but I'm not sure how to get photos down loaded

Sounds like to me you should have shot him and claimed victory!

It is fairly easy to load .jpg files when you create the post if they are not too large. Us the "Browse" and "Add Attachment" buttons. I reduce them so that they are not larger than 800 pixels wide.

Well Radar, we are always learning.
And you are a matured, distinguished, refined hunter who knows what he likes.
And things are going to be alot easier on the next trip.
Have fun and laugh about it.
You might even let off a shot next time.
There is nothing like being out in nature.
