Are we really that much safer with more Police on the Street

Total security Forces ...

10,000 Police Officers, ... Check!
17,000 Soliders, ... Check! (that is 7,500 MORE then the British have in Afghanistan! )
13,000 Private Securty Gaurds, ... Check!
a Amphibious Assult Ship, ... Check!
Eurofighters, ... Check!
SAM sites, ... Check!

and having a women, not in a team uniform being able to casually walk in with the Athletes at the Opening Ceremony .... Priceless!

oh well they are doing their best, I mean some of the soliders are being used to fill the corporate seats that are vacant while joe public is stuck outside unable to get tickets!!!

Now thats a cluster.
I'd be bloody upset if I'd travelled from here to London ($2000 flights) add accommodation which wouldn't be cheap to get to a venue and find that my public seating was full and all the corporate / olympic / sponsor seats which inevitably are in the best spots were empty.

Being a good keen kiwi bloke I'd probably give it a shot by getting up and moving into said vacant seating.

What would really rip my undies is seeing a bunch of soldiers come in and take said same seats because they were ordered to. I'm not bagging the soldiers cause they are only following orders, just the politics of what and why they're having to do it.
