I use a rem. 700 adl to hunt deer and i reload my own shells,but the questin i have is.......can a 308 reach out to 400 yards and be dead on if is shootin 1" high at 100 yards

Download Point Blank and put in the required information about your hunting round and it will tell you its trajectory. Wink

Ky...NO...1 inch high at 100 yards may give you dead on at 200 yards. 2 inches high won't give you what you want either. Go with Dimitri and down load Point Blank and check it....

With a .308 and using 150 gr bullets, you would have to sight in approximately 8 inches high at 100 yrds to be right on at 400 yrds. At an inch high at 100 yrds your zero would be approximately 165 yrds and you would be approx 27 inches low at 400 yrds. Depending of course on your reloads.
