I tried the PBPatcher.exe and it says "PBPatcher is already running on this computer" when I click OK I get the window with a button to launch PointBlank, just like the website says. But after 1/2 second the window disappears. I'm not fast enough to get the button.

Next I tried downloading the zip file with everything on it, unzipping into a folder and starting from PointBlank.exe. After closing the 10 second donation window, the "starting up initializing data" window gets to the "loading settings" stage, then I get notification from Windows that this program has stopped working.

The patcher only downloads any out of date or missing files from the HuntingNut.com website. You can try launching PointBlank.exe directly. The only known problems we have had in the past is sometimes there are wierd administrator rights issues. It works on enough machines out there I think its a strange local setting issue on your machine. Run patcher to get all of the latest files, then try running the PointBlank.exe directly to see what it does.

OK I figured it out. I should not have put the files in the "programs" folder. After moving it all to my desktop, it seems to work.

Wish I had found this thread before I fired off a request to the "Contact Us" link. Same problem also solved by moving it out of the "Program Files" folder. As noted, must have something to do with screwy MicroSoft admin rights.... Go Figure.

SOB. I had the EXACT same problems. I moved the folder to another made up location outside of program files and hey, works great.
