Yard Signfor the Liberal next door

From a guy in Texas:

My neighbor is a "lefty" of sorts (Obama bumper stickers,gung-ho socialized medicine, "guns should be banned," etc.). So, this past spring I put this sign up in my yard after one of his anti-gun rants at a neighborhood cocktail party.

The sign wasn't up more than an hour before he called the police and wanted them to make me take down the sign. Fortunately, the officer politely informed him that it was not their job to take such action without a court order and that he had to file a complaint "downtown" first, which would be reviewed by the city attorney to see if it violated any city, county, or state ordinances, which if there was a violation a court order would be sent to the offending party (me) to "remove the sign in seven days."

After several weeks he was informed that the sign was legal (by a quarter of an inch) and there was nothing the city could do, which obviously made him madder. I tried to smooth things over by inviting him to go shooting with me and my friends at the hunt club but that seemed to make him even more angry.

I am at a loss how to reconcile our long relationship (notice I did not say friendship), any suggestions would be welcome.

I have seen that before. It's pretty funny how the libs are generous with giving up other people's rights as long as they can keep theirs.

Reconcile...well mate, I suppose you could wander over and console him after the robbery, offer him a beer or a cup of tea. Apart from that, I think I'd simply say..."You made your bed, now you have to lie in it sport". Very Happy

By the way...nice display of azaleas too.

Funny but guess it wouldn't be if the sign encouraged someone to break in, shoot him and rape is wife and daughter.

Old point but worth remaking. And funny. The anti's think they have all the answers and no one else knows more than them. You can't even have an intelligent conversation with them, why? They won't let you.

In the condo I live in I dont broadcast I have stuff, less that know the beter in my book for sure, but one neighbor knows...he's a libertard. Nice guy and all. He's all "when it hits the fan im comin' over!" Told him bring beers beans and bullets, and knock first....or dont bother! He turned a lil white and snickered.

Once I was in the garage gettin ready to clean some jack's n' quail. His lil girl just the cutest thing , love her to bits, comes strolling in like she always does and is checking out the catch before I really got into it, she'd never seen a wild animal. She handled a quail and was all "THATS COOL". She's 8 or 9 and asked where it came from and I told her its like a little cihcken and where food really comes from, mom was unpacking the Prius, then she ran over with it yelling "mommy mommy chickens come from the desert not the store like you said!". Laughing
