I've had good luck painting the front sight blade with flat black stove / barbeque paint. It seems to have less reflective value than normal "flat black" paints and lasts well. I know traditionally, red is probably the most popular front sight color, but if you want something that stands out against almost any background, try some "neon" green. I tried it on a whim after seeing green "Tru-glow" sights and found that it really makes that front sight easy to find in a hurry. I now have all my defensive weapons' front sights painted with it.

Darn it Vince, now all I can see is some poor mutt in a crowd with florescent paint on his scrotum. Bet that would turn heads at the football game LOL.

Reminds me of a Mexican restaurant in Tucson, there's a huge statue of a bull out front (anatomically correct), it's parts get painted colors once in a while.
