I worked up this load using Retumbo powder
Retumbo
Winchester Brass
Federal 215M
COAL 3.300
71.5 grains
velocity 3,215 fps
group .185
my set-up is a 264 Winchester magnum built on a Weatherby Vanguard action with a 26" Shilen Barrel. I'm going hunting 3rd season in unit 82 in Colorado hopefully I'll be able to test them on a nice Bull Elk. I used 140 grain XLC on Elk with no problem but like to see how these Berger bullet do

Yea normally I would have shot 4 shots but only had 2 left after shooting 5 shots through my Chrony to test speed. Hopefully I'll be posting pictures of my Elk next month

salasj, best wishes on your hunt. I would really like to see what the VLD bullet looks like if you can recover it and post a picture.

Good hunting and I too look forward to your results. My calculations with the 140 bullet at that speed show about 3200 fp of energy at muzzle. That and good shooting can give you a long reach one shot kill capability for sure.
Edited: Had wrong bullet in calculation.

I use to have a winchester sporter mag in 264. Great gun I shot a lot of 120 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips in it , very accurate and does a tremendous amount of dammage when put in the lungs of a whitetail.. Good Luck !!!

I can't wait to see how the Berger Bullet VLD Hunting performs on Game. Seen those videos by greybull prescion those animals dropped like someone kicked their legs out.
I have another 264 Winchester Magnum that I'm waited for our local gunsmith to finish up so I can use this season. It was a Ruger M-77 Remington Magnum that I had rechambered to a 264 Winchester Magnum. My wife really likes the way my Weatherby Vanguard shoots so I got to get me one lol
