The real question is WHY shave when your in the middle of a hunt or battle feild

Another reason you shave on the battle field other than vince wrote is your gas mask will not seal to your face properly if it's not shaved, witch could be a bad thing if the sitution called for it.

In the heat of battle I'm going to tell the enemy that they have to stop shootin' just sos I can shave...Realisticly, trying to stay shaven in war time can only be accomplished back at a well guarded camp. In the field it's rather difficult to to take the time. Aboard ship it can be done...
Every year, because of my job, I have to certify to wear a resperator...As you see I have a beard of sorts and I never shave it and still manage to certify for the US Navy...

Vince,
Yah that honestly would suck having a CO like that.
SharpshooterJoe,
I did not know that, not like it would matter for me I highly dought that if somehow I got onto a battlefeild and had to wear a gas mask that it will fit
Bushmaster,
I agree in a well gaurded camp or aboard a ship is the best spots to shave, away from the flying bullets.

Hey ya Bushy, you can shave in the field, although it is difficult. In the aussie Army we are trained to a routine. First thing in the morning, after the necessary tactical procedures and you have packed away your kit you go onto "50%". One shaves and puts on water for a hot brew whilst his mate stands watch, then they swap over. Done properly a shave takes a couple of minutes. When out on patrol its a bit different, you shave when you return.
As for respirators, I have to agree with Joe, it is very difficult to get them to seal on a hairy face, and if I had a choice between sealing or getting gassed etc I know which one I'd prefer. Although, I have a mate who is a Naval Clearance Diver and he has more hair on his face than I have on my entire body and his mask seals ok. Maybe the Naval masks are a little more "tolerant than the Army ones.
Hey Dimitri, I am sure that they would have a mask to fit that big boofhead of yours mate.
Cheers, Vince

I believe that Dimitri is trying to go into troubled waters where it is too deep for him... Twenty lashes with a cat-o-nine....

Hi Dimitri
Thank you.
With all of our comments, we've straightened out the world.
With all of this "tactical" BS,I'd rather go huntin !
Fun part is,reloadin !
Then, take my tactical 44 RedHawk,or the tactical F.A. Model 83, to go tactical pig huntin. Drink lots of coffee, tea, for a tactical, humongus
(tactical I might add) "Gotta go !!!"on the tactical trees, weeds, etc.
Hope this was tactical enough.
There. Now I feel better !
See you guys later.
