New Push for Gun Control
Good Luck guys...you are gonna need it...the bullsh1t has begun. Once they have the thin end of the wedge in, they will give it a hit at every opportunity and drive it in further.

Because this was such a tragic event, there will be some sort of "knee jerk" legislation passed. The problem is, like Vince so eloquently pointed out, once they get the tip of the wedge in.....
The Media's use of the images, and interviews with 6 year olds at the school, will go a long way to sway the opinion of people that didn't have a gun control opinion before. We have a tough fight ahead.

Aussies lost the use of SEMIAUTO rifles including 22lr and PUMP ACTION shot gun after similar tragedy.
And a few years after, all pistol caliber above .40 and all pistol with barrel less than 100mm.
Yet, now days Sydney got at least ONE SHOOTING A DAY, some fatal, some injury..
Proof that the restriction does not work, yet they still going on the same route.

Colorado set an all time record for gun sales the day after this tragic event. On-line sales are 30 times (not 30%) above normal. I caught some hi-cap magazines this afternoon but they are all but gone now. They only could promise 20 days before they ship. May try to find a lower receiver tomorrow.
My concern, we have shown terrorists where the soft spot is and how much press they can get from it (and every other mental case out there),

A couple of emails I received today...the first is from a mate up NY way who is a LEO and the second whose husband was a LEO before cancer took him, and she has worked with LE for the better part of her life.
Need for More Laws
Adam Lanza shot & killed his mother (1) Then stole 3 of her guns (2,3,4) Then stole her truck (5) Then illegally transported three weapons (6,7,8) Then carried those guns to the school, without a carry permit, (9,10,11) then broke into the school (12) brought those guns on school property (13,14,15) then shot 26 and killed 26 more people (16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32,33,34,35,36,37,38,39,40,41) . In total he broke 41 Laws. Yes, More Laws would have stopped this from happening !
Okay ... here it comes. One has to question the validity of the initial and subsequent reports of the Sandy Hook massacre. I wondered why the officers first said they had a second alleged shooter coming toward them, and 'had' him. And, also question the confirmed report of a dead body in a Lanza home in Hoboken. And... also wondered how the reported shooting took 3 minutes, in which time the shooter had time to reload and shoot each of 26 victims on average 4 times (coroner said 3 to 11 times per victim). HOW?

Good one Vinnie and there's another question on my mind about the shooting. At first they kept saying he use a pair of handguns and had another weapon in the car, happened to be an AR-15 (the Bushmaster). Now they're saying he first opened fire with the AR-15. Oh really?....then he took it back to the car? If they wanna blame guns, if they wanna blame "assault weapons" they gotta arrange the circumstances.

By the way, why hasn't anyone been pushing for car control? Almost all of these madmen drove to the scene of the crime. If they'd had to walk someone would have noticed them and stopped them.

I am so POed at this whole BS media propaganda crap. We allow the media to report everything but the facts. When things like this happens there needs to be a locked down perimeter established. No one in or out until the authorities have completed their investigation total news and civilian communication blackout. There was so much misinformation reported that the facts are still obscured. Now we have law makers working on new legislation based on emotion not facts.

My attitude toward the media has gotten me in trouble in the past. The most recent was my last trip to Iraq. I was so mad because we had to go to areas where the vultures were housed. Our mission was a little out of the ordinary, and a wee bit sensitive. The reporters always wanted to talk to patrols coming in the wire. One rough day an obnoxious reporter pushed to far and I politely (NOT) Explained to him he was not to talk to any of my troops or any others that came in with our bumper numbers. By the time we got back to our FOB word of my antics had already made it to my Battalion Commander. I didn't even get to go into his office, he handed me my a$$ as we cleared weapons. Then he told me good job protecting the troops from the media. They seem to find way to turn freedom of the press into yellow journalism.
