Ok that looks like fun to me (for about 2 seconds) but it's interesting that none of the contents were ruptured and it looks really clean too. What a huge mess of rabbits. I would think you'd want to wash your knife and hatchet after each rabbit, otherwise you're contaminating the next rabbit carcase with the last ones you did and if there's only one diseased rabbit, now all of them will be fouled. It's fast but unclean. Maybe there's no concern though, I dunno rabbit and butchering, but in the clinical world that would be cross contamination big time.

Not a bad method, although he skins rabbits in the same way I do now...although I skin them before gutting.

As an aside...here's an Aussie way of catching rabbits, although it is certainly not a method I would use or recommend. The guy presenting this is also a bit of a moron.

Rabbits and Snakes

Around these parts we do the "boot stomp". You stomp your heel right behind the front shoulder and a quick jerk of the rear legs and it sperates right behind the shoulder and all the guts and mess stay with the front quarters leaving the hinds and back straps.

You guys are gross, that snake chaser guy needs a gun, he's freekin crazy messin with those snakes to catch a rabbit, can't believe he didn't get bit. I do like his netting idea tho. You could probably use a smoke bomb of some sort instead of a dang snake. Snakes aren't wonderful treats to eat but he had about as much meat in his hands full of snakes to compare to a rabbit. I guess the real treat is boot stompin and gut bustin! What a respectful way to treat your quarry. Maybe it's clean...but the spirits of those animals won't be happy...I'm gonna have dreams now....eeeooowwww I swear if my Dad had taught me those methods I would have run away from home.
