A huge slab of elk London Broil cut, chop it and simmer with red/green peppers, purple onion, Manwich sloppy joe sauce.....serve on a giant tortilla.
Elk burritos!
I wish you could smell just how amazingly good it smells in here right now. I had to duct tape a diaper to my face to keep from shorting out the hot plate cuz I am drooling way more than usual!
YUM!!!

stovey, your meal looks great! So does your winter weather.
Here in North Texas we have been having a major winter storm involving ice. Its the worse ice storm I've seen here. It started with my Thursday afternoon flight from LAX to DFW being cancelled at 5am in the morning in advance of the ice storm. I immediately packed my bags and drove through the LA traffic and caught a 1030a flight to DFW. We landed at 4 pm just as the freezing rain started. I was supposed to fly to Boston to see my daughter for the weekend. That flight had been cancelled along with 6 others that were rescheduled after that. You can't even talk to an agent at American Airlines and is taking them over 3.5 hours to call you back. It took me 2 hours to drive home instead of 45-min and I had at least a 1/4 inch of ice covering the truck.
Here are some other indications of just how bad the situation is.
- It was 80 degrees the day before this all started.
- 4000 people slept on cots at the DFW airport for the second night in a row.
- Traffic on the highway going North from Fort Worth was back-up 100 miles.
- West of Fort Worth its a parking lot on I-20. People have not moved for 30 hours and there is no gas left in the gas stations.
There is a bright side, the freezing rain shifted over to sleet (we got
3-inches) so the power-lines in our area remained intact. Only 300,000
homes lost electrical power in the DFW area. It could have been much worse if the precipitation had not shifted to sleet.
The sun just came out and started to melt the ice. I can't believe it!
My flight tomorrow morning back to CA has just been canceled (number 8). At least I'm at home staying warm. Slim

Some great tasting vitals their Stovie. No elk here this year.
SJ. that ice is just nasty to deal with. Rather have a blizzard any day than all that ice. Hang in their buddy. Stay safe.

I believe in global warming as much as I believe in global cooling. It's what the earth has done for 4 Billion years or more.
Damn!! I need a better heater in the office. My fingers are cold.

no furnace for this shop.
I need a big electric shop heater. I cant do open flame or combustables out there. got an Eden Pure infrared heater in the bike shop. that's fine for in there. but in the ATV shop it wont even make a dent. I need to ramp this scene up.

Local law or....?
When I was doing my aprentiship in a european automotive shop [years ago] we used a modified barrel and wood to heat the shop. We even used it to heat heads prior to installing valve seat inserts.

Or they runn out of gas. There were stories of the truckers using their microwaves to heat drinks for folks and sharing what food supplies they had. The gas stations along the remote highway ran out of fuel supplies.
Drove my wife to work this morning. The bridges are still coated with thick, cobblestone ice. My flight out of DFW this morning was cancelled. I was lucky to get rescheduled this afternoon. Others traveling with me are leaving tomorrow. Now the flight to LAX before mine and after are canceled. What a zoo! It should be back to normal winter weather by Wednesday.
