New computer time...does PB work with 8.1? How about the original version (which I still keep for quick and dirty calculations)?
And as always, thanks for your hard work!

It should, I don't see why it wouldnt. Keep a backup copy of the database.xml somewhere, its what contains all your "data".
My mom got a laptop for Christmas a while back and it came with windows 8... I LOATHE Win8. It maybe a fine OS for touchscreen tablets but for PCs it is terrible. I spent hours trying to configure it for her to try and get it to behave like Win7 which she was used to. Always felt the OS was continually getting in my way. Move the mouse certain ways and it thinks it is a touch gesture and tries to do something you dont expect.

I agree Dallan. Cross platform ended up being cross users. Also it runs differently if you are using a mouse or touch screen. I wanted to change the default printer and it took me 30 mins and a Google search to get it done. The Microsoft site told me to search for the control panel. What did they think I had been doing for 15 minutes.

It's funny that you say that Dallan, as you are a "computer guy" by trade as am I. We both feel the same way. Anytime I worked on my mom's new laptop I wanted to chuck it across the room, Windows 8 bugged me that badly. If I wanted a tablet interface I'd use a tablet. On a laptop? Don't give me that garbage!

Try This!
On my wife's laptop (win 8.1), got sick & tired of trying to use the laptop as a touch screen computer.

Thanks for the classic shell !!!
I've gotten use to the 8.1 but like everyone else I hate it. Biggest issue I have is being forced to switch back and forth from metro just to access tools and programs. Classic shell eliminates this.
I have come to like using apps at times.
For example..... I click on the netflix app and I'm there signed in and ready to go. Don't have to open the browser, click favorites, click netflix and sign in.
