Remember gentleman...This is the day we celibrate those who gave their all for this country. I will not (though I appreciate it) take any thunder from those who gave their lives so I could be free. The day to celibrate the living vets, like me, will be November 11...

Oh I see Bushmaster.
We dont have Memorial Day here. So I'm sorry for the mistake on my part. Just Remembrance Day on November 11th. And its for everyone who faught/served here not just the dead
Still My hat is off to all veterans both who died and are still living!
As they say:
If you can breath, thank God.
If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you can read this, in English, thank a Veteran.
Dimitri

Amen Bushy. Our day for Veterans is 25 April....ANZAC Day (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) This is the date our forces landed at Gallipoli in Turkey and created what is now a fantastic legend....even though we were defeated.
As with you guys we celebrate November 11 as Remembrance Day....the end of WW1.
Gentlemen, heads bowed for 2 minutes whilst the bugler sounds the Last Post followed by Reveille.
They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn,
At the going down of the Sun, and in the Morning,
We will Remember Them.
LEST WE FORGET
Cheers, Vince

Thank you Sirs...Both of you...I just don't want those who gave it all to be mixed in with those who gave and are still here...We reap the benefits that they bought for us...

To those who won the war for freedom so that we can celebrate it.
To those who would not call themselves heros while we and their comrades do.
To the men who fought and died so that we can live free without paying for our freedom.
we owe them the vigilance it takes to preserve what they paid their lives for.
To my uncle, my dad, my cousin and all the others that are now in a better place : "Thanks" just doesn't seem to be enough but it is all that I have.
God bless and keep them all.

Well said everyone. Tis a day of thoughtful and grateful rememberance.
Last night I watched "Saving Private Ryan" followed by the complete "Band of Brothers" series... so heart wrenching what those who fought and died, went through.

To our lost brothers & sisters who have given their lives at home or on forign shores we give you eternal Thanks. May their sacrifice be not in vain and that their actions be remembered forever. To those I have known personally I give my Thanks to their families that they shall be remembered. To those still able to read this remember them always as your Brothers & Sisters.

To all those who were fathers, brothers, mothers or sisters. Years ago or now in Iraq. Thank You for your sacrifice so that we and others could be free. Try to also remember their families who miss them and still hurt over their loss.
