I checked the numbers yesterday. What I found is that 99.99467% of the population of Utah has not died of covid19.

I just checked. 99.987% of NC hasn't died from COVID-19 either.

I think you guys are missing the point.
This bug has a fatality rate of 1 to 2%, if you are male, over weight, have underlying medical conditions and are type A blood group and over 50 and you get this, you are in trouble.
The USA has not been able to put a lid on this and it seems the victims are getting younger (after all its an old people's problem, why should I give a s@#$.) In your population thats 350,000 to 700,000 people dead...
Its now ancient history ie over 2 months ago in media time, that 2 other first world countries medical systems where overwhelmed by the victims of this disease, look up Italy and Spain and their death rates. The USA has areas that are close to having this happen, the lockdown has only one goal, it keeps the victims down to a level where your countries medical system can handle the numbers, you will get a bed and a respirator if you need one, doctors wont be making the who lives/ who dies decision based on available resourses not on what could be done IF the system wasnt overwhelmed.
The my rights, wah wah, my job wah wah and the me centric attitude isnt helping the issue.
Nope not everyone who gets this is going to die, most will survive (end of media interest right there) however there is a fair percentage of survivors that will have permanent damage to various bodily systems, things like lungs and kidneys. So while you survive your are permanently damaged. The media doesnt mention that, only spectactular numbers.
You lot have the benefit of the experiences of many other nations who had this happen before it hit you and it seems the lessons learned dont apply.
Reality is a bitch and you guys are finding out the hard way it seems.

On a side note: The younger, more "woke" segment of western society has been demanding for some time that they be listened to & their views be given more weight, including campaigns in many countries for the voting age to be lowered to 16.
The actions of this part of society, with their irresponsible ignoring of social distancing, putting pointless protests before public safety & flouting of restrictions on large gatherings so they can party & have fun, has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of other people & underscored exactly why their views are NOT worthy of greater consideration.

We will see if the US gets one more chance to get their act together.

The fact is that we don't know how many people have had it. The numbers indicate how many have tested positive. One study thought that the infection rate in the US could be up to 50 times what has been reported. A bunch of folks where I worked in FEB had all the symptoms, including me, but were never tested. In actuality the death rate is MUCH lower than what they're saying. I agree that people with pre-existing conditions should be careful, just as they should with the flu or even the common cold. But the hysteria over COVID-19 has gone too far. As a good friend said last week, modern society has made fear a "virtue". People are being encouraged to act fearfully. This also shows among our lily livered politicians who are removing monuments in the name of "safety"

It's more about control of the masses ,,,, trying too find out how far they can push us before we rebel ,,,,, for some it doesn't take much too control them .....

In the USA the death rate is less than 1% of the confirmed cases. It would be lower if the patients were not purposely housed in old folks homes.
This is just another part of the world wide information war.

The game changer there is a new treatment using an already available drug.
I read an article how it's down to a collaboration between US & UK medical & scientific types who put it all together.
It's not a cure but it hugely increases the survival rate of those seriously effected, especially those needing ventilation.

Is this drug Remdesivir?

Not sure. I think it might be.

The only thing I have heard about Remdesvir is it shortens hospital stays an average of 4 days. That is important but not sure it should be classified as a game changer. I have two people I know, a close friend from church and the brother of another friend, who were brought back to health with hydroxychloroquine which is still getting negative media attention. hydroxychloroquine definitely worked for these two.

Been trying to find what I read but can't but I now think the article was referring to Dexamethasone.
