What a pain, throw'n charges in the scale pan, weigh'm, pickup a funnel, put it on the case, pick up the pan and dump the charge and so on for a hundred rounds or so.
Well for those that haven't seen this handy little gadget ....................

A real step and time saver for a couple bucks. It work just fine with those digital scales too! The bad part....dosen't work with anything under 22 caliber, but you you take a 223 case, cut it off back past the shoulder and tape (pass the DUCT TAPE!) it to the funnel, fixes that problem.

Oh yeah ...Got mine from Sinclair.

Gidday Bill,

There are days when I reckon I must be as dumb as dog droppings, but I can't seem to make head nor tail of the tool in the pic. Sorry mate, but what is it? Who makes it? Is there a manufacturers website where I can get a better look at it?

Thanks, Vince

The only fault I find with that powder pan/funnel is this: When I'm charging cases, I get into a rhythm of ....fill the case, move funnel up one, fill the case, move funnel up one, ......etc. If the funnel is not on a case, I'd be always double charging cases. Guess it is just a "senior" thing Razz Other than that, it does look handy.

Vince,
Its just a good old plastic powder pan used for beam and electronic scales with a funnel incorporated in it. You dump the charge, put it on the scale and when things look right simply put the case in the funnel and dump away. No need to have a seperate funnel. It works well 90% of the time. For anything under 22 caliber, you need to make an adaptor or if you need to use a long drop tube for a cartridge/powder combination.

Blain, I fully understand the "Senior" thing!
I got into the habit of putting the empty brass on on side of the tray and moving it to the other side once its charges. If I'm loading a bunch, I'll use two trays. Either way,I use a flashlight and check each case for powder before seating the bullets. Where it come in handy for me is when I'm loading at the range. I may only be loading 3-5 rounds at a time, so instead of readjusting the measure to the exact charge, I'll dump them light, trickle up to the weight and dump the charge. It eliminates one other piece of equipment I need to fiddel with.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for the tip on the funnel/pan. I picked one up at the new Cabela's store in Hamburg, PA (WOW! What a Store) last week while on vacation. I look forward to trying it.

One of you mentioned it doesn't work well with anything under .22 Caliber. I have a .17Rem. and heck, nothing works well with it, not the drop tube in my Redding powder dispenser, not my powder funnel, simply nothing. I have a special MTM plastic funnel that will take the powder from my dispenser and let me put it in the rifle case "but" the opening is so small it doesn't drop through readily. It becomes a case of tap, tap and tap some more. Ultimately it will get into the case but oh what a heartache. The .17Rem. is a frustrating little beggar for more rasons that this though. Best wishes.
