For high powered rifle it was an old WWI 8mm mauser, a 1916 Danzig. That thing was super accurate especially for it's age. I also had an old single shot bolt action .22 and what was so old I think was the very first model 16ga single shot.

I got an Indonesian made BSA copy Air rifle back when I was 14 years old.
Shot my one and only bird at 50 meters - It was a sparrow I think - and it was a lucky shot I think. Never shot any bird since then.. no duck, fowl, turkey magpie etc.. none.
First rimfire rifle Slazenger (Lithgow made) still have it
First Semiauto Rimfire RUger 1022 <-- Must give it up on Government Gun Grab in 1997
First Center fire rifle Ruger 77MKII in 243 WIN rebarreled to 308WIN two years ago
First shotgun Remington 870 <-- must give it up on Government Gun Grab in 1997
First rimfire Pistol Ruger MKI
First centerfire Pistol ParaOrdnance P14-45 <-- must give it up on Government Gun Grab 2001
First revolver SW686
Beside the Gun Grabs, I never sell any of my gun yet, and I hope never will have to.

Sure! In that case my was a break open "Marksman" Canadian Tire break action air rifle.
After the M1A, next gun I get is going to be a one year anniversary gift to the next girl I manage to have around that long. So it might be her first gun.

Hi everyone... My first shotgun was an H&R Topper M48 in 20 ga. Still have it... My first rifle was a Rem 788 in 308 with a Tasco 4X scope - package deal at the Smitty's Grocery in Phoenix, AZ - 1979. I bought it for javalina and mule deer. Still have it also. I restocked it with a synthetic and put a new scope on it but I still have the original birch stock and scope. My son uses it every year. Very accurate gun for under $100.00 when I bought it.
Side note: I don't think I could stay in a county that "takes" my guns. Heck, I have trouble with the gun laws in this county.

My first rifle was a Japanese POS. Igot rid of it before I realized that I could have made a great custom rifle out of it. I got a 22 rimfire pump 16A. After that it just kind of expoded into the guns I have now.

First rifle (other than BB-guns) was a single-shot Remington 510 Targetmaster 22LR that my Dad bought in the late '40s and passed on to me (still have it and it still shoots great). First centerfire was a SMLE .303 British that I restocked and scoped (long gone now and was glad to see it go!).
