Well if I happened to stop by Ely's place in the future he'd have alot of reloading of 308Win he could get done after if he wanted to. Laughing

ok I'll ask, why Ely do you have a rug on the wall and a wolf skin on the ceiling?
seems you are a bit confused
usually the rug is on the floor and the skin is on the wall
cool guns though

my collection just grew with a 30 06 BAR looking for a good scope for it and a Ruger(shhh dont tell vince) 10/22 lr with scope
also looking at .32spec winchester lever oh oh oh oh

I went out shooting with a mountain man, a gentleman outlaw, and a three legged man last sunday. shooting range in the state land across the road from my cabin.

The mountain man was holding the outlaw's .44mag superblack hawk(mine is thicker barrel and prettier) with one hand and a beer in the other.. i didnt agree, but he was in Nam and hit everything he shot at impressively so i did something most women cant. stayed silent.

the gentleman outlaw being well into his 70s also hit everything he shot at.
he shoots competivedly from what i can gather about him.

the 3 legged man(he had a cane dahhhh) shot a 1920 16gu. shot gun and i thing personally his shot had too much in it and wouldnt come out of the break action barrel. and about knocked him off his two legs
he also had a .38 special that had two single barrels. i didnt like shooting it.

all these guys were talking specs and ballistics. things way over my head and i couldnt help but think of ya'll here in the Nut.

I didnt do too bad but need alot more practice. i hit some targets and was off a few inches on others. now if i had my bows ohh their mouths would have dropped. practice practice practice..

I don't know, I always figured if I managed to scrape up the money to hunt Bison in the northern territories I'd hang it on the ceiling. Laughing

As for Eric's comment about not being a cowboy, I dont know looking at that room I think its a "Cowboy's" room. Laughing

found some bison skins in a trading post and want to make some buffalo robes or coats as ya'll call them. awful heavy to have on the ceiling when it makes a great blanket on the bed. especially up there where you are D

That may be true Keetoowah, but on the ceiling its not going to get dirty. Laughing

A good wool blanket is always good on a cold night, which reminds me I need to find one for my apartment. Confused

Mind you my "shooting room" once the time comes is going to look more like a old trading outpost then Ely's Cowboy room. Fur, wood, random bits and pieces everywhere, and with a layer of dust on all the "pack rat" stuff I collect. Laughing

I must admit, I can't throw stuff I think MAY be useful in the next 10 years away, so I collect alot of stuff. Easiest way to get rid of something old is to offer it to me and if its anything I may like (outdoor stuff, computer stuff and the like), well its coming home with me. ROFL

it will get dirty.
ever look at you light globes on the cieling or the corners up at the ceiling.

it will also dry out faster and become more brittle quicker for heat rises. unless you are going to take down and oil it alot and often i would suggest the bed. and why would you want something scratchy like wool when you can have a good soften hide?
same way i might need it down the rode. had grand collection of things before the house burned down. now i am collecting again.

I guess your right. Maynot be the best spot for it.

Still I never really found wool scratchy myself. Smile

A mountain man eh....ya gotta watch them mountain men....they like "mountain women" Very Happy Embarassed

A three legged man....thought we all were. Laughing Embarassed Embarassed

Congratulations on your growing arsenal. The Ruger 10/22 has a great reputation so you should have a ball with it....and a 30 ought six BAR is also a great rifle. All in all I reckon you are gonna be one very happy little papoose.

Cheers, Vince

Actually, the rug on the wall is camo material that Gander Mountain sells in 4ft x whatever length that you want.
All of the walls in my room are fully covered by this material.
I do have a full Timber Wolf mount in my other room.
The Texas Longhorn that I have over my bench came from the big Flea Market in Amarillo. $65.00. Looked great on the roof of our Suburban coming home.

My Wife will get a laugh that you guys call it my "Cowboy Room"

Eric
