Just saw a short clip of Sarah Palin on the TV over here in Oz. Showed her firing an AR15/M16 on full auto and talked up her pro gun stance.

Cheers, Vince

Heh... it certainly doesnt hurt. Actually there is a huge movement to close down access to alot of winter riding areas... so having someone to bat for the sled crowd in keeping access open is great.

Great choice! I heard her speak on the Glenn Beck Show and she is very pro Second Amendment. She showed a picture where she gave her son a deer rifle for his birthday. Sarah is the real deal. All the best...

"....she's too good to be true."

Tracker...I hope your wrong here...I hope she IS true and we get her for VP and McCain for president.

I don't want ot get too far ahead of this, but if McCain was to win and at the four years Sarah Palin was to run against hillary. I bet that would be a cat fight... Very Happy

You are right there Dallan...it sure doesn't hurt to have someone onside. What I can't seem to get my head around is why they want to reduce access by snowmobiles...what possible harm can they do to the environment??? It's not like they carve all the way through the covering of snow and then chew up the ground underneath !!! When the snow melts, then all evidence of snowmobile usage disappears with the melt. Crazy. Bloody greenies...they should all be shot with a ball of their own excrement !!!!! Mad Evil or Very Mad

We are having similar problems between the greenies and the 4WD clubs over here. These morons are even trying to stop horse riding, and bicycle riding for goodness sakes, in some areas. They reckon that these recreational vehicles just cause too much damage to the environment.

Its unusual that they show anybody on TV playing with a firearm over here, so its interesting that they showed her actually shooting what is seen by many to be an assault rifle, and on auto too.

I hope Tracker is right too Bushy...for your sake mate. I can't imagine that Billary will try again...how old will she be in another 4 years?...maybe they will try to get Chelsea onto the circuit....scary thought.

Cheers, Vince

You don't understand the mind set of our liberals. It really doesn't matter to them that any thing is wrong, as such, nor that it does any harm. They just can't abide anyone having a good time unless it's at a pot/crack party or some hip-hop "music" concert.

They only love the outdoors in the abstract, they don't go into it so it follows that they don't want anyone else to do so either.

Don't expect them to make sense, it's all emotion.

You're right - it's been exposed as a fake so I've deleted it. Embarassed

Makes no difference to her main attributes as a hunter, shooter & conservative though. Very Happy

As the Governor of Alaska she owns the Alaska National Guard and can mobilize them for various emergency functions. So, I guess she can test/inspect their weapons if she wishes. Very Happy

Here is a precedent setting example of effective use of the National Guard by a governor.

Oklahoma's War

Although she is a good choice as to the type of person we may want as VP, I wonder if it hasn't hurt McCain's chances. She appeals to the conservatives, but may alienate some of the moderates and independents who's votes are needed to win the election. If McCain had chosen a more moderate person, it would probably have helped him win. The extreme right wing would not have voted for Obama even if McCain had chosen a more centrist individual, but the moderates may well abandon him if they view the ticket as too right wing (anti-environment, anti-choice even to save the life of the mother, and anti-intellectual). The right wing extremists have been hurting the Republicans for decades.

In this area a moderate is considered to be a liberal with out the guts to admit it. You can believe that McCain NEEDED Mrs. Palin on his ticket or he was dead in the water. Most conservatives were ready to jump ship until she came on board. McCain was helped tremendously by choosing her!!!! By the way, the radical left in power now is just as bad as the radical right!!! They may have differing philosophies, but the methods are the same.

To where could those conservatives jump? Moderates can jump either direction and some may now jump toward supporting the more extreme liberals. The choice of a moderate might have induced more moderates and independents to jump toward McCain's conservative position.

To the left of the ultra-liberals are the socialists and communists and to the right of the ultra-conservatives are the fascists. The extremists in either direction are intent on total control of the lives of everyone else. We need the moderates to keep a balance and prevent a swing of our society too far in either direction. Unfortunately the Libertarians, who IMO represent the best of both have no chance of winning a major election and a vote for them is a vote wasted.

First I think she is a great choice for VP.

I'd like to see where the women’s groups will throw their support. The truth will come out that they don't give a hoot about women; they are socialist puppets instead, and will vote that agenda (using women that are easily persuaded), no matter what.

As far as the definitions used for the right wing conservative agenda. These are part of the socialist's indoctrination program. Deceptive term. If you say something enough times to the sheep people, they will actually start to belive it. Look at the last 7 plus years of the anti-Bush, anti conservative propaganda. Anti-environment..Almost 100 percent of the vast numbers of environmental scientists that I know across the nation are conservatives (what does that tell you about conservatives caring about the environment). Anti-choice...This is a term used by the socialist's to not make the real name sound so ugly (baby murders). Anti-Intellectual? I don't know where this one came from. As a scientist, we laugh at the uneducated opinions put forth by all of the socialists, concerning all of the issues above, including global warming.

I was reading part of a different forum entry from this site and got aggravated, as did Bushy, from the comments of a couple of people talking about voting for a third party candidate, stating that we should be voting for anything other than a major party candidate or voting for ones conviction, no matter what. Well, my opinion of this is that any vote for other than McCain/Paulin is a vote for Obama/Biden, Nancy Peloci, Harry Reed, Ted Kennedy, etc., and for at least 4 years of their socialist agenda. They might as well save themselves the time of reading the ballot and taking a big black marker and check one straight socialist ticket and write across the top of the ballot that I just helped the socialists because of my inability to see what my vote is going to do. That said, This is your right as a citizen to cast your vote any way you wish.

If Obama wins, and, along with the rest of the socialists in congress, put in place a scenario that will change the political, social, and cultural face of United States of America (that affect the nation for years to come), I hope that history will remember and curse the people that allow this to happen (remember the damage that Ross Perot caused, by drawing votes from a conservative candidate).

This is the last comment I'll have on this subject (Unless someone riles me up again).

Vint2

Good to see you back in the fray. I was wondering what happened to you. I figured that politics would bring you back into the converstations.

Cary

I wish she at the head of the ticket and McCain was the VP candidate. I am really impressed with her.
