Friends,
Remington Help , Have a Remy 300 Win Mag Rifle, Trying to age and ID this rifle has seemed to be difficult, It has a Black synthetic Stock, Barrel is also Black, like the stock.
Serial Number is E6756XXX, Normally Remy has two letters before the numbers. Month/Year of manufacture. Not one like this one?
Have surveyed almost all the Remy sites and cannot ID this hard shooting rifle, Killed two Deer with it this season, Buck/Doe.
Anyone help out with this little problem?
Would sure like to know how old and what model it is
Regards
Bob
If you think a picture would help, let me know

I have 2 Remingtons and the serial #'s on both of them have one letter and then numbers. It looks like yours was built in 1936, 1958 or 1984, according to the following link.
www.remingtonsociety.c...arrelcodes
Sorry, that's all the info I have. Best is likely to contact Remington and they will be able to tell you.

Follow 1895's link....it's the BARREL CODE not the serial number.
Look on the left side near the action for IMPACTED lettering...its explained in the link.

OK, Took the 300 apart to check for Impacted anything. NOTHING on the left except std Remington info and Serial number
Right side only Rem circled and the letter J inside triangle
Any more guesses?

There is a caveat on the Remington site as follows:
(*) On 8/9/99, stopped stamping the barrels with the date code. They continued to mark the date code on the end flap of the shipping box. They resumed stamping the date code on the barrel on 10/1/01.
Hope this helps..

Well, Shootist,
I appreciate your efforts as I also do 1895's, I guess the question will go unanswered except for the 99/01 window. I still would like to know the correct model? BDL-SPS-ADL???
Does the image above help?
Cleaned the rifle and put it in the safe for now. Sorry the pix where crappy, But I wanted to get something on the forum!
There were NO barrel pads in the forearm and it is not bedded, Guess it's an Oddball like Me!!
Thanks Again for all of you efforts.
Regards,
Bob

Hi torasperry....I took a photo of the barrel codes from my Rem 700
Varmint Special...The code reads "B" or "R" followed by an "S". The first letter is struck off-line. The date of manufacture is JAN or Nov of 1969.
