ElyBoy

I pray daily that this will be the case.

And, yes historically speaking when either party has control of the government it tends to balance out over a period of 10 to 15 years. But, those were real conservatives facing moderate liberals.

Today we have quite a different animal out there Republicans that are barely conservative, and the liberals have gone so far left it's like they are in the twilight zone.

I have no problem sounding like a founding father, and I hope to sound like one till the day I die. They were brilliant men, God fearing and trusting men, and men who knew that while the only perfect government will be that government enacted by Jesus Christ upon his final return, they believed that they could create a government that was better than any thus far practiced on earth, and thus far it has been.

The pendulum never swings back as far right as it does left. So, even if we are lucky enough to get a conservative in office, it does not have the same impact as getting one in office back in 60's, or even 70's.

The blame is not on the conservatives it is on the ignorant, lazy, want to be taken care of citizens. There are very few real men (or women) left, those who take responsibility for their actions, that are willing to fight for their rights.

Today, most will take the easy route, it wasn't my fault because- you fill in any excuse you can think of here-. Ignorant, not most citizens fault, it is the fault of the education system and the media, or lack of system. Liberals who hate the U.S. ,what it stands for as well as all of its accomplishments.

And so, conservatives who want to be elected recognize that they must be more centrist, at least so during the election.

It has been decades since public schools have taught the true history of the U.S. and even if you make sure that you teach your kids at home, there are a thousand kids who never hear the truth, or even a fraction of the history of our country. The liberals, and all teachers, who are some of the worst liberals, won't allow the truth.

Lincoln, is a prime example, the great emancipator, you bet-- he was a racist and wanted to send all of the blacks back to Africa, or anywhere, as long as they weren't in the U.S.

Quote::
"I will say, then, that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of bringing about in any way the social and political equality of the white and black races -- that I am not, nor ever have been, in favor of making voters or jurors of negroes, nor of qualifying them to hold office, nor to intermarry with white people; and I will say in addition to this that there is a physical difference between the white and black races from living together on terms of social and political equality. And inasmuch as they cannot so live, while they do remain together there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

Here is a prime example of the fallacy of three or more party systems.
Quote::
On November 6, 1860, Lincoln was elected the 16th President of the United States, beating Democrat Stephen A. Douglas, John C. Breckenridge of the Southern Democrats, and John C. Bell of the new Constitutional Union Party. Lincoln was the first Republican president. He won entirely on the strength of his support in the North: he was not even on the ballot in nine states in the South — and won only 2 of 996 counties in the other Southern states. Lincoln gained 1,865,908 votes (39.9% of the total,) for 180 electoral votes; Douglas 1,380,202 (29.5%) for 12 electoral votes; Breckenridge 848,019 (18.1%) for 72 electoral votes; and Bell 590,901 (12.5%) for 39 electoral votes. There were fusion tickets in some states, but even if his opponents had combined in every state, Lincoln had a majority vote in all but two of the states in which he won the electoral votes and would still have won the electoral college and the election.

And, if you go back and read some of Lincoln's positions, and speeches about war, and not wanting to end slavery in the south, and truth, and justice, and accountability of the government. You will be amazed at the similarities with Obama, lies and omissions of the truth.

The biggest reason that we will be stuck with Obama for at least 8 years, is the media. As I have mentioned in earlier posts the media is already campaigning for his next four years, one of their biggest points is that the U. S. is so screwed up that it would take anyone more that four years to straiten it out, and here's a kicker, some Democrats are writing Bills that will eliminate the 8 year term limit for the President.

I believe we are in a bigger pot of menusha than most think we are. Just look at what is happening, what the media says, (unfortunately, most Citizen still believe the media, a vast majority in fact) who is being appointed, and yes ElyBoy the last week of his first week in office.

I am not changing my position on the election or the Orgyration (orgy of the inauguration), I am ashamed of my fellow citizens and even more ashamed of my government. As for the first week in office, I would use the word disgusted!!!!

ElyBoy I am not trying to bust your chops on this, but we must all look deeper into the things that are happening today, what is causing them to happen, and how we as small voices can stop it, and change its direction.

I think somebody posted a comment that God does not bless countries, please read the old Testament. God blessed the Nation of Israel, I believe he has blessed our nation. But, once blessed does not mean that he will not destroy it when it has lost it's ethics, morals, and belief in God.

One final thought, I do not believe Obama is a Christian, or a Muslim, I think he is a humanist, and most likely a pawn of Satan, if not worse.

You and I agree on everything politicly Lester.
I'm just more of an optimist than you are.

We will see what the next two years bring, before Congress is Conservative again.

The next two years are critical.

ElyBoy,

Yes we do, and I suspect that most everyone one else on the Nut, with any experience at all, shares our sentiments.

As far as being optimistic, I try hard. If you think I'm bummed, you should talk to Miz Dee, she says "kill them all, and let God do the sorting". That's funny, but she really means it.

Anyway, I try to be optimistic, but since I see only deterioration, I spend a good deal of my time everyday writing to State and Federal Legislatures reminding them who their constituency are, where their bread is buttered, why they were elected, and what it will take for them to be re-elected. And, I attack even more fiercely when there is a Bill or inclination to present a Bill that would further deteriorate our rights.

What I see now is history repeating itself, to an even more unacceptable degree. Leave the economy alone, leave the people alone, and all people should pay taxes for the opportunity to live in the USA. I say that because I am on disability, and if BO has his way I will not be paying any taxes. I like paying my fair share, it's not much but I feel like I am a part of the U.S. and not a freeloader.

EB, I will be moderately patient and will pray that we don't loose anymore rights. But, I will continue to write and call anyone who is elected or in a position of influence, and I will continue to express my opinion here.

I hope that this does not make any members angry, but I am just that kind of guy, I must speak out, and try to make others aware of existing and new issues that will affect our lives.

Aha....I have found my soapbox. I popped it up behind the Forum Menu awaiting my next need of it. Lester has found my hiding place and grabbed it.

Not to worry....if you can make good use of it Lester, then I shall rename it The Community Soapbox mate.

On a serious note...I am not familiar with US history, because beyond what is really minor parts, they teach nothing about it out here in Oz.

From what I am reading and hearing, it seems that the US is in for a very bumpy ride over the next few years. Is Obama up to the job? Its really anybodies guess. Is he there because he believes in the Country and the Job, or is he simply another Politician who has aimed at the Top Job for the "lurks and perks" and to say..."I was The President of the USA". Again, its anybodies guess.

The worst part I see about it all, is regardless of anything else, whatever happens over there will have a profound effect of the rest of the World. We are already starting to see it over here in Australia with huge job losses, higher... and climbing steadily... unemployment, economy changes for the worst and the Stock Market is ripped apart. All of this because of businessmen, Company Executives and CEOs who could not:

a. Do their job and/or, Mad

b. Are money hungry and greedy well beyond the financial capability of the Company, Mad Evil or Very Mad

c. Want to make a name and big reputation for themselves. Flame

They have destroyed economies world wide. I believe that it will take many many years for everything to recover.

I feel very sorry for you guys and don't envy you one bit over there...as I said...you are in for a very bumpy ride. Crying or Very sad

OK...that's it...The Community Soapbox is back in its hidey hole Lester. Very Happy Very Happy

Cheers, Vince

Your thoughts are valid Lester, and we all have to become more active in the NRA, and other groups to elect local, state, and national politicians who share our views.

My District is the most Conservative in the State of Minnesota.
We all are very active in politics.

This same attitude has to catch hold all over the Country.

Vince,

Ya lost me on the Community Soapbox thing. But, you are dead on about the executives of financial institutions, and many other major industries such as GM.

Greed and corruption. There was however a very large government involvement in he collapse though. Very few people know about it due to the fact that our illustrious media has chosen to ignore the issue. The liberals who control most of the humanitarian offices in the government, forced banks and mortgage institutions to provide mortgages to people who were totally unqualified, millions of mortgages.

ElyBoy,
Thanks for the support.

Guys, if there is anything I can do in any way to help you find out who your legislators are or get their email addresses, or help with a letter. Anything you want I will help with.

I also think term limits are great, and we should in fact support any effort to reduce the tenure any Congressman, or Senator can have. Further, we need to keep our ears open for any legislative proposal that will increase the Presidents term limits. Keep listening it will come up within three years.

So, let me haul my old ass up on Vince's soapbox for a minute so I can rant a little.

Here is another idea that is somewhat radical. Since most of our elected officials are "well to do", in other words have more money than you, I, or Jesus. Let's not pay them until each term is expired. That way the elected official has to go back to his constituency and prove that he was effective in maintaining their rights, did not add to the deficit with pork barrel projects, and just in general did a good job. I wonder how many would get a check.

And, here's a way we can help them survive during the term, provide dormitories, and they already have a cafeteria. A cafeteria that serves much better food than our military gets. This way their survival is taken care of, and they won't need to worry about where their next meal is coming from and they can concentrate on what is best for the country, not what is best for them. We could even provide their families with the same benefits and we would still save money in the long run.

Oh, and while we are at it. If you want Social Security to succeed, then get rid of the special retirement plan for all government employees, and the extra special plan for the Senators and Congressmen. What interest do they have in assuring Social Security is funded correctly if they do not have to depend on it for their retirement funds. Further since it is obvious that we will have national health care, then make sure that they have the same plan as normal citizens.

We also need to ban lobbyists, and special interest groups from Washington. and, we should not allow any contributions for election funding. All monies for elections should come from the government, and each should get the same number of dollars, based on the position they are running for. Private funding of elections leads to corruption.

OK, climbing down for now. Sorry if I am boring y'all.

Ronald Reagan, was a great man.

It is seldom in a person life that he can see what a truly uncorrupted individual can accomplish.

A man who has only the best interest in his country and fellow man.

I think it will be a long time before we see another of his caliber, no pun intended.

But, many if not corrupted could learn for his history, yet they ignore his wisdom because it would make it impossible to succeed with their own agendas.

The liberals often quote him, but only to detract from their agendas. You have to listen closely, and as Christ said actions speak louder than words.

That's a paraphrase guys don't beat me up too bad.
