Hot damn DS....I really wish you would stop showing me these magnificent pieces of workmanship....I'm turning greener every day...with envy.

That is an interesting calibre. I take it that it is wholly and solely a varmint rifle?

Once again, you have achieved mate...a beautiful rifle.

Cheers, Vince

Should be just the ticket for a nice deer rifle. Question.............can an older Handi Rifle with the problematic ejector be converted to an extractor only design along with stubbing? Or is another stub needed?

Thank you Vince, I appreciate it...

This rifle was built strictly for TARGET work with the long sleek VLD bullets....

............................................................................................................

roklok,

in the hundreds of Handi rifles and H&R rifles that I have built, I have never done an extractor/ejector conversion...

If a cartridge ever sticks in one of my barrel stubbed barrels, the load is way too HOT!!!

Unbelievable workmanship Sniper.
My Dad used to do that kind of stuff long before I was able to learn from him.
I don't think that even if I was able to learn, I would have had the talent to do what you do.
This type of workmanship hits the curve of artistic talent that most of us just don't have.

Congrats. and keep the pictures coming. Very Happy

Eric

Thank you Eric, I appreciate the compliments....

Did I show you guys the T/C Encore I built in 243 Winchester - Match? This was my 500th. "barrel stub" rifle to be built, not to mention just over 2,000 barrels that I have built by "barrel stubbing"....

What are you using for dies ? .260 Rem and then what just a neck size die after ?

Very nice looking rifle by the way.

HRs are not my favorite gun by a long ways but this is visual proof you can make a silk purse out of a sows ear.

The 6.5X444 Improved is loaded using a set of 6.5-06 Ackley Improved dies that I modify to match the chambers that I cut...

My 6.5X444 Improved as well as all other "Improved" chambers that I cut, which are based off the full length 444 Marlin case, only have .007 taper from base to shoulder...

The 6mmX444 Improved uses 6mm Ackley Improved dies...

The 25X444 Improved uses 257 Ackley Improved or 280 Ackley Improved dies...

The 7mmX444 Improved uses 280 Ackley Improved dies, etc., etc....

I also chamber for all of these cartridges in the T/C Encore. This is a good way to gain both velocity and accuracy from rechambering barrels in 243, 260, 7mm-08, 308 and 358....
