by definition a mountain is any landmass 1000 ft or more above sea level.

you can ride across the rockies by horseback in about 3 days. here to cross the ozark mountains by horseback without using a road would take almost a month.

its apparent you guys dont walk much. until 1965 my logging family used horses to skid logs for the simple reason they were the only way to do it tractors not being able to navigate the terrain. you may be higher than hear but that doesnt diminish what is here except in your own minds.

a fact is a fact.

the ozark mountains run from mexico to canada turning into the boston mountains up north.

im a stickler for facts.

Ease up Spacedone....No one is saying your foot...Aaah. Mountains aren't mountains. Just that they aren't as tall as they used to be.

Walk??? I will be 63 next month and I will walk from camp carrying my A-bolt or Winchester lever and cover around 5 or 6 miles before lunch and do another 3 to 4 miles before dinner at 8,000 ft. And I will do this every day for 10 days or until I get my deer. Besides riding horses I do a lot of walking and ranch work.

I also worked in the loggin' industry when I was much younger as a choker setter in the Cascades of Oregon. Try that on the face of a ridge where everything is straight up or down.

Please do not indicate disrespect for those of us who have been on this planet for a time. We have been there and we have done that.

Now about the coffee and shot of whiskey...Are we still on for that??? Cheers
